    Problem setting up Xbox


    Problems linking Epic Games Account to Xbox. My sons have just got an Xbox each that we have/are in the process of setting up. First son's seems ok and is linked to his epic games account (which is linked to one of my email addresses) but we are having issues with other son's. I have just changed his epic games account email address from my other email address to his (with me as the parent email). Tried to link the epic account to his Xbox and it connects under my Xbox profile name which I only set up as the parent profile not so I can play. I have logged in on second Xbox. How do I solve this so it connects under his gamertag? I've already unlinked the account.

    I am sorry to hear that.

    You need to link his Microsoft Account (the one you use on the console) to a new Epic account.

    We can't link more than one Microsoft account to an Epic account, and if you try to link a different one, you may receive an error message.

    You can do it here:

    Please, enter Epic website: epicgames.com/account/connected

    Go to Your Name > Account > Connections > Accounts

    Select his Microsoft Account to link it.

    If you still can't, you will need to open a support ticket with Epic support.

    Hi Impact,

    Thank you for coming to the forums, I'd be happy to help.

    The main factor that would prevent you from playing online if the network is fine is that the account does not have an active Gold subscription as I've seen error messages that look like there are related to privacy setting issues actually be related to
    subscription issues.

    Does the account you are using have a paid for subscription or where you game sharing with another account? Gold subscriptions also share with the Home console feature like the game licenses do.

    I believe it has to do with a subscription issue if you have done a factory reset to the console and yet it still will not let you play online. The main Xbox you use could have an account with a Gold subscription sharing to the rest.

    If not, then go ahead and
    power cycle     your Xbox.

    Let us know if you've ruled out the Gold subscription as the cause.
