Problem redeeming the microsoft points code.

Hi,

I am not able to redeem ms points 2100.

I have tried on website and via console, i get message, something went wrong.

I have had contact with ms chat support, they asked me to post here.

Appreciate fast help.

Microsoft Points pre-paid codes

You can add Microsoft Points pre-paid codes by using the Xbox 360 console or by using Xbox.com.

Xbox 360 console

To enter a pre-paid Microsoft Points code by using the Xbox 360 Guide main menu, follow these steps:
Press the Xbox 360 Guide button, and then go to the Marketplace area.
Select Redeem Code.
Enter the 25-character pre-paid code.
To enter a Microsoft Points code by using the Add Points Wizard, follow these steps:
To access the Add Points Wizard, press the X button while you view any content description screen within the Game Marketplace or Video Marketplace areas or while you view the Memberships section in the Account Management area.
Select Redeem Prepaid Card.
Enter the 25-character pre-paid code.

Visit Sign In (Sign In) or follow these steps:
From Xbox.com, use your Windows Live ID to sign in to your Xbox LIVE account.
Select My Account from the My Xbox drop-down menu.
Click Redeem Code to enter the pre-paid code and add Microsoft Points to your account.

Hopefully the remaining Microsoft points that people have will be converted to local currency, or else that would be a huge waste. I found an FAQ on this, hopefully the information is true.

Microsoft no longer uses Microsoft Points. The expiry date was July 2015, sorry.

Actually you can still redeem MS Points cards as Xbox has no plans to cancel them.

Perhaps the issue you're experiencing may be due to region. What is the 8 digit error code you receive when trying to redeem on the console?

If you go to that page you linked to, it says at the bottom:

"We’ll continue to accept purchased Microsoft Points Cards and codes
until further notice"

[Emphasis by me]

So if I remember correctly, it was announced at some time that Point codes had to be redeemed until March or April 2015, after which you can't redeem them anymore.

So unfortunately, you can't redeem your point codes nowadays.

Microsoft points were discontinued in 2013. If you have a points card you can try redeeming it, but at this point it might be expired. http://support.xbox.com/en-US/billing/prepaid-codes/redeem-prepaid-codes
