Problem keeping wireless controller paired up

Hmm, to be honest, if you've already reset your console and as well the steps in the link provided by Brad, it might be a hardware problem that you'd have to get serviced either by visiting

device support or speaking with an agent through
customer support. If you're within the 1 year warranty period, you should even be able to get this done without fee. You can also try getting it swapped at the store you got it from.

Personally, if the problem is something that you can live with, I would continue to game on that console, but if it isn't I would say to get it worked on before your warranty expires.

Thanks for the help. I opened up a service order to ship to Microsoft for repair. Their instructions are a little incomplete, not sure if they want me to send just the console by itself or the whole thing including cord, controller, etc. Can you advise on
that.

Sorry for the issue with the controllers. You can try out the
controller troubleshooter. Also is the console plugged directly into a wall outlet. If not this can cause issues with controllers disconnecting, and even worse console not powering on at all.

Sorry to hear that you're dealing with this issue trying to keep your controllers linked up.

If it did stem from a recent update, then I would suggest trying what we call a soft reset of your console.
It's a reset of your console back to factory settings but one that does not uninstall any of your games or apps and is a really good troubleshooting step for most issues.

Just make sure that before you go ahead with it, that you do know all of the sign-in information for any/all of your accounts(asthey
will be removed) and have easy access to your internet network.

Also make sure that you select the option denoted
reset and keep my games and apps.

Did the reset, had partial success. The console will still not turn on with the controller wirelessly, however, by turning on the console with the on/off button it comes on and synchs with the controllers wirelessly, so I guess I can live with that, it's
better than having to unplug the console. Still kind of a head scratcher, am I missing a setting somewhere?

I don't have the console plugged directly to the wall outlet, it is plugged into a heavy duty multi outlet device. It's been that way for almost a year and no problems. This issue just started recently, thinking it was the controller causing the issue I bought
a new one, same result. I'm not totally sure but it seems this started after a recent console update, maybe related, maybe not.
