    Problem Joining Back Compat Games on Xbox One


    Hi, I've been having a problem when I try to link xbox 360 games on two xbox ones. I have tried Black Ops 1, Black Ops 2, and Halo 3; none of them will let me join system link or xbox live games with the other xbox one. Both are on the same network and the
    error is given by the games themselves, not the xbox. Another problem is how they failed to join when they both had open NATs last time. If anyone can give any advice I would appreciate it.

    My Games/Apps filter error

    Both ‘Laura Croft: GoL’ and ‘Mafia II’ are not filtering correctly in My Games/Apps. They are both 360 Back Compat games, but they are listed under the XBox One Games filter and not under Back Compat.

    Because of backward compatibility you will be able to join parties, join games but only the xbox 360 game you have started up.

    Because the Xbox 360 version of Oblivion is back-compatible on Xbox One. A remastered version of Skyrim was released on Xbox One, but the Xbox 360 version of the game is not on back-compat at this time.

    There are several solutions:

    For Party chat, you can start any backwards compatible Xbox 360 game on your Xbox One, and then initiate or join a party with them through the Xbox 360 dashboard (accessible on the Xbox One by pressing View and Menu buttons (the small buttons left and right
    of the Xbox button on the controller) at the same time).

    Alternatively, your friends can use the Xbox App on a Windows 10 PC or Xbox App on a compatible smartphone to join your Xbox One party.

    As for playing on the "same game server", you would need to play the Xbox 360 version of their game.

    So for example, if your friends play FIFA [insert year number here] on the Xbox 360, you can NOT join them by starting the Xbox One FIFA [same year number here].

    Also, if your friends play Halo on the Xbox 360, you can NOT join them by launching the game in the Master Chief Collection.

    However, if they start a game that is on the
    Xbox One Backwards Compatibility list    , and you do have the Xbox 360 version of the game on your Xbox One, you can play on the same server as them.
