Problem installing gta5 game/game update

Hey guys, I bought the digital of gta5 yesterday and began installing it. It began at 6:45pm and 'finished' at 3am the next day. However when i clicked on it to play, it popped up saying i needed to update it so it began and after 20 mins it said i could
begin playing which i tried. Big mistake. Now it is on the gta5 startup screen and is saying "installing 44%" and when i go back to my games and apps it says "updating 14%"??? Also it has been stuck on that for an hour. Why did the first installation restart
again, it seems that both the installation and the update are both in progress but i cant pause the update without pausing the installation!!! Would it be worth restarting?

Your GTA5 might be corrupted. For us to fix thus, according to this Xbox Article: https://support.xbox.com/en-US/help/games-apps/troubleshooting/game-issues-solution

"Please remove and re-add your profile:

1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
2. Select Profile & system > Settings > Account > Remove accounts.
3. Select the account you want to remove (the one that’s experiencing the gameplay issue), and then select Remove.

Now download your profile again to create a fresh version of your profile data:

1. Press the Xbox button  to open the guide.
2. Select Profile & system, select Add or switch, and then select Add new.
3. Type in the email address and password that you use to access your Microsoft account (the same account you just removed).
4. Follow the prompts as the console walks you through account setup steps such as privacy info, sign-in, and color preferences until you return to the Home screen.

Once you have completed the process of re-creating your profile on the Xbox console and have returned to the Home screen, try to play your game again. "

I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble launching GTA5 on your Xbox. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve the issue:

1. check for any corruption or incomplete downloads on your hard drive in all your games.

2. delete the title update from gta5, go back in the game, and allow it to redownload.

3. delete DLCs for gta5 and redownload them through inside the game.

Take the disc out install the game via the xbox app on your phone, then insert the disc to launch the game.

Same with my GTA5 disc, dunno if is a defect on the disc but it refuses to install.
