Problem having Gold

So my cousin shared with me his account so I can have it as home xbox. I got to download his games but I cant play online, it says I dont have Gold membership but my cousin does have one. Should I get my own membership?

Apologies for the delayed reply, were you able to solve this issue?

It sounds like those codes may not have been activated for Gold. Did you have your family members who purchased them reach out to Amazon to have them look into what got mixed up?

I'm sorry to see any purchasing issues! There might be some miscommunication due to language barriers, based on how you posted, so forgive me if I misunderstand what you're saying. I believe you're saying that your account is acting as if it doesn't have
Gold, but you have purchased it, correct?

If so, you will need to

I have xbox gold. I have had xbox gold. I tried repurchasing xbox gold and it won't let me because I already have and can't buy it again while I currently have it. The problem is not that I do not have xbox gold. The problem is that I have it and I cannot
access multiplayer functions.
