Problem - "For some reason xxxx has taken too long to start. 0x8027025a"

I have just seen this for the first time, and no app is working at this point. I would get to the splash screen and then it hangs for about 50seconds then gives the error message above. I tried KI and disc based games like Forza, store, internet explorer,
even settings always the same error. Is anyone else seeing this, my guess is it's an update that did not finish or somehow has been corrupted.

Keep Getting Error 0x8027025a When Loading a Game

The exact message is:

For some reason XXXX has taken too long to start. (0x8027025a)

It has happened on the following games:

FIFA 16 (disc)

Halo 5 (digital download)

Call of Duty Black Ops III (disc)

Rise of the Tomb Raider (digital download)

 

I have no idea how to fix

I'd suggest you try a power cycle, it usually fixes issues like this. All you have to do is hold the power button on your console until it shuts down then wait 30 seconds and turn it back on. Hope this helps!

 

Thanks, I didn't know about that. I turned it off and unplugged it for a minute then plugged it back in.

 

Had the same problem nothing would open at all, unplugged, rebooted and worked fine.
