Problem downloading latest update.

Even though mine is up, I'm having weird issues with apps and games. When it loaded, I had 2 blank green tiles in my apps that the only thing I could do was uninstall them. I had one of these blank green tiles in my games section to (both showed up at the
very left end of the library as the first things to choose). I uninstalled both then when I put GTA V, it redownloaded the game even though it was only updating for the Halloween Special DLC. Two separate times, once for two different games I get interruptions
in installing/updating saying my disc is dirty or damaged (which they definitely aren't either as they are brand new and I looked at the disc before putting it in) and to top it all off, I again have lost my H5 MP Beta game/game tile.

It was there, said 10GB etc., I pined it to my homepage, I select manage game, move all to external, then nothing happens. I try it again, same result. I leave, take a shower, come back, no change except now the tile says zero GB. I eventually hard reset
my console hoping that maybe it did transfer, but once the home screen loads back up, it's completely gone from my games library again, though space usage reveals that it's still there on my internal. This is really starting to annoy me. At least I got it
pinned just to have something to access from it. It may or may not come back on its own in time like before.

Hey guys! To minimize confusion because troubleshooting may be different for preview updates than regular versions, you'll want to post this, and everything else preview related in the preview forums (forums.xbox.com/.../default.aspx).
This will also ensure that the proper team sees your post and can help you out. Also, make sure you look at the list of known issues to see if there is a workaround.

If you haven't already, be sure to report any issues via the preview app on your console (if you can), so that all relevant data gets reported to Microsoft.

As for getting stuck on the green screen, you'll want to let it sit there for up to 20 minutes because that screen means your console is updating still, but it does get hung up sometimes. If it does, hold the Xbox logo on the front of the console for 10
seconds until it powers down and unplug the power cord from the back for 5 minutes. If that still doesn't get you past the green screen, you may have to do a factory reset.

Update: My Halo 5 MP Beta game tile just randomly showed back up within the last couple hours. All is good now.

Even though I can't do anything with, I love still having it as an exclusive.

Mine was kept online. I did a hard reset and let the green screen go for 30 minutes the first time. I did a 2nd hard reset and let it go for 15 mins. I did a 3rd hard reset and let the green screen go for 5-10 mins. I did a 4th hard reset and unplugged the
Xbox for 6 mins but got green screen and let it go for 2 mins. I did the hard reset and turned on by holding the side sync button and eject down which turned it on but still just green screen. I did a hard reset 1 or 2 more times letting the green screen go
for 2 min and it finally worked. I know it seems crazy but wanted to give a specific of what I did.

I was hoping I wasn't the only one having this issue, when you tried the hard reboot of the console did you have it connected at the time or offline? I too would hate to reset to factory defaults (who wouldn't hate to lose what they spend so many hours on???),
and IF I am lucky enough to get it working I will move everything to my external HD...

I hate this bs. they make us download an update that breaks the console. well done microsoft.

I'm with you, sort of. Tonight, when I turned my X1 on, it said "update failed" (I have instant on). I was able to easily restart the update and download it. My console restarts and during the install phase, where it's preparing my console, my controller
turned off twice due to no use (I have fresh recharged batteries). This turns my console "off" twice. I turn it back on and the update continues, however, after about 10 minutes after the second controller cutout, it completely stops its steady slow progress
and sits at about and basically freezes for. After another 10+ minutes of no progress, I end up turning the console off and back on, which gets me stuck at the green Xbox loading screen and that's it.

I've tried brick resetting it multiple times, pulling out the Ethernet cord, even a sad attempt at the time consuming Offline System Update Diagnostic Tool really hoping that the new update didn't take, to which I found out it did by getting an error message
to contact Xbox support . My only real hope is to try the OSUDT 2 once it's updated with this Oct. 29th update, as I am NOT resetting this console back to factory default; I've got all the gaming stuff/apps I really care about on my internal HD that I really
don't/can't wipe. What I want to know is when the new OSUDT 2 will be available to have a second chance to redo this update.
