Problem downloading latest update.

I got home from work and booted up the xbone. was greeted by a console update screen and started it. It went through the whole download process and restarted. now it's stuck on the green startup screen with "xbox one" in the middle and the 3 little dots
beneath. I've tried power cycling the console and it doesn't work. anyone else having this issue?

GTA V update issue

It's an issue with the latest update, had the problem myself. Just put the system into stand by and let it download while it's "off"

I'm with you, sort of. Tonight, when I turned my X1 on, it said "update failed" (I have instant on). I was able to easily restart the update and download it. My console restarts and during the install phase, where it's preparing my console, my controller
turned off twice due to no use (I have fresh recharged batteries). This turns my console "off" twice. I turn it back on and the update continues, however, after about 10 minutes after the second controller cutout, it completely stops its steady slow progress
and sits at about and basically freezes for. After another 10+ minutes of no progress, I end up turning the console off and back on, which gets me stuck at the green Xbox loading screen and that's it.

I've tried brick resetting it multiple times, pulling out the Ethernet cord, even a sad attempt at the time consuming Offline System Update Diagnostic Tool really hoping that the new update didn't take, to which I found out it did by getting an error message
to contact Xbox support . My only real hope is to try the OSUDT 2 once it's updated with this Oct. 29th update, as I am NOT resetting this console back to factory default; I've got all the gaming stuff/apps I really care about on my internal HD that I really
don't/can't wipe. What I want to know is when the new OSUDT 2 will be available to have a second chance to redo this update.

 

I hate this bs. they make us download an update that breaks the console. well done microsoft.

 

*The update stopped at I guess around the 80% mark for about 7 to10 minutes. I gave it about another ~10 minutes before turning it off. My hope was that it would cause the update to restart, which it did not. It stuck me at the green loading screen for over
half an hour to which I reset, tried again, reset, repeat.

 

yup. that's what mine is doing. very frustrating. I'd really hate to have to either send it in or blow it all back to factory and lose all my game saves.

 

I did a hard reboot about 7 times and let the green screen do its thing for about 2 minutes and it finally started up and is the New Xbox One Experience. Good luck to you and to us all!

 

Update: ^ This just happened to me. I gave up last night (it got to 2am) so I went to bed. Today. I tried again, I turned it on and about 2 minutes later it loaded up with the NXOE, thank god! As TheSPARK said, good luck to everyone that this fixes itself!

 

I spoke a little too soon. This update didn't go without a hitch. When I went into my games section, I noticed on my internal drive that both my MCC and H5 MP Beta games tiles were missing. I popped in my MCC disc, which loaded up and brought back the tile
(the data was all still there). The bad news now was that the H5 MP Beta was all digital info that I got through the MCC PI Menu and has been greyed out since it ended almost 10 whole months ago and removed from being able to download ever again. With no game
tile for it, the data is completely inaccessible; I can't see it, use it, nor move it, etc. I know it's still there because the HD shows the amount of space used/left. I've had this experience before where I had the ACIV:BF free DLC, but I didn't have the
actual game to make the game tile - until months later when the game was free with gold, which fixed this issue.

The H5 MP Beta was one of the items that I really hoped to always keep, that I feared this update would screw with, and it did. All my other games on my external HD were completely fine. I learned my lesson from this and began transferring all my other games/data
on my internal to external except MCC because it has a tiny link to the H5 MP Beta. I really hope that somehow one day I may be able make it work again. Here's to hoping.

 

I was hoping I wasn't the only one having this issue, when you tried the hard reboot of the console did you have it connected at the time or offline? I too would hate to reset to factory defaults (who wouldn't hate to lose what they spend so many hours on???),
and IF I am lucky enough to get it working I will move everything to my external HD...

 

Mine was kept online. I did a hard reset and let the green screen go for 30 minutes the first time. I did a 2nd hard reset and let it go for 15 mins. I did a 3rd hard reset and let the green screen go for 5-10 mins. I did a 4th hard reset and unplugged the
Xbox for 6 mins but got green screen and let it go for 2 mins. I did the hard reset and turned on by holding the side sync button and eject down which turned it on but still just green screen. I did a hard reset 1 or 2 more times letting the green screen go
for 2 min and it finally worked. I know it seems crazy but wanted to give a specific of what I did.

 

Update: My Halo 5 MP Beta game tile just randomly showed back up within the last couple hours. All is good now. Even though I can't do anything with, I love still having it as an exclusive.

 

my console doesn't detect the update even if I hard reset. By mistake I put skip and stay offline and now if I go to the settings it just says No update available even I was prompted when I turned on my xbox.
