Problem connecting to network after update

Kindly check if you can have a wired connection to Xbox and test the same.

Got on the xbox tonight, saw an update. Did the update. Then was loading a new Star Wars game fore my son. Loaded just find. He went to play it...it asked for a parent to ok playing it be ause of restrictions. I went to do that and we could not connect
to our network.

xbox sees our network but when entering password it tries then says, “cannot connect to network”. All other devices in home work fine. No network issues.

Not 20 prior to this issue wehad an update, so it was connecting to the network just fine then. What gives?

tried resetting modem. Turned xbox console off and on. Nothing.

Sometimes there is a bit of a bug with the settings, please double check if you power on settings are on "Power Saving" instead of "Instant on" after that has been changed try a power cycle and see how it goes. https://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/console/power-cycle-console

There was a problem with the update

This message can appear before, during, or after a system update has started. In general, this type of error is a network or caching issue.

Solution

1.Troubleshoot your network. Here’s how: a.Select Check network connection. This test should verify that you have a working Internet connection from your Xbox One to your network device.

b.Try to resolve any errors that appear. See the Xbox One Network Connection Error Solution to resolve any network connection errors.

c.If you can’t resolve the errors, you may have other issues with your network that are causing your Xbox One to time out or fail the system update. These issues may include the following: •Wireless interference

•High packet loss

•Latency.

d.If any of these issues are causing a problem, try a wired connection if possible.

2.If you see the It’s all good screen after running the Check network connection test, the issue is not your network.

3.Select Start update again.

4.If you see the There was a problem with the update screen again, power cycle your console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for 5 seconds. After the console has shut down, unplug the power cord and wait 30 seconds.

5.Plug the console back in and turn it on using the Xbox button. Power cycling will reset the network card and clear the cache.

6.Select Start update again.

7.If you see the There was a problem with the update screen again, you can try using the Offline System Update Diagnostic Tool.

8.If any of the following apply, you may need a repair: •You can’t correct your network connection.

•You can’t try a wired connection.

•You continue to see the There was a problem with the update screen while attempting the update with a wired connection and after power cycling the console.

•You can’t complete the installation of the Offline System Update Diagnostic Tool.

9.To submit a repair, visit the Xbox Online Service Center.

•Once you‘ve successfully installed the system update, you’ll have more tools to help you troubleshoot your network in depth. See Network settings on Xbox One for further troubleshooting.

•If your Xbox One has not been connected to the Internet for a long period of time, it may need to perform several updates to get back up to date. To see a build history, see System updates for the Xbox One operating system. Continue to perform updates until
the update process is complete.

There are multiple problems after the update, some get resolved, some don't.

Not connecting to Live seems to get resolved more easily, getting booted from Live may not even be a update issue, but a Live issue.

Not being able to connect to the internet after the update does not get easily resolved, unless a simple rebooting of the network or restore network defaults solves it.

Calling for help I doubt will solve it, a new update should most likely solve it.
