    Problem connecting to friends games on certain wifi


    while at home I can play any game with my friend and no problem but once I go to my sisters we can’t play any games together. I’m not very experienced so I don’t know understand this problem. When on my sisters wifi, I try joining her (or she joining me) on
    Minecraft it gets stuck on ‘locating server’ then says I was disconnected and with farcry 4 it just says unable to join game. But my sisters wifi is better than mine so why can’t I join on hers but I can on mine. I’m very confused by all this so help would
    be appreciated

    Why when i test my xbox live connection does it say its working, but it doesn't?

    How are you connecting to the internet? Are you using a wired connection, or a wireless (WiFi)? I had a console where a WiFi connection would give me occasional problems, so you would want to check that out.

    The only thing i can think of is to try connecting your PC to your router via ethernet cable to rule out wifi problems as i used to have problems with the 360 smartglass when on a certain wifi channel

    Thanks for the help, but I have sorted the problem with my friend. We both put our IP settings on manual and it's fine now. I'd suggest trying this as your internet cannot change the xbox's IP during online activity, which causes disconnection.

    Do you know what your MTU setting is on your router?

    I think the Sagem router IP is by default 192.168.0.1 - type that into your browser on your PC and log in to the router. The MTU setting should be 1500
