    Problem : 2 gamertags/accounts with a single adress mail


    Hello ! I have a problem with my Gamepass account, I feel like I have 2 different accounts with the same email address. When I log into my Xbox desktop application with my email address X I see GamerTag Y. When I log into the web gamepass with address X I see a gametag Z.

    Gamertag Y has a subscription renewed every 7 of the month, gamertag Z has a subscription that renews every 28th of the month. So it seems that in addition to having 2 different gamertags I pay twice for the same service. Also note that the progress of my games are different on the two gamertags. How is it possible ? I thought it was impossible to have 2 gamertags on the same email address? How can I deal with that ? Should I cancel one subscription ? But how do I know which one to cancel in this case?

    I don't understand why, when I log in with an email address I can only see, depending on the location (web or desktop), only one of the two gamertags.

    without having access to the accounts and not having the full information it's not possible for me to determine what's the difference exactly, but you for example have 404 that easily could be mistaken with 4O4 depending on the type of letters, that's again only one example

    What I can say for sure it's that having 2 gamertags whit completely different content and services in one email it's impossible, as the gamertag it's onñy the name to show, but the email it's where all the content gets linked to

    Hi QCboy! My name is Ricardo an independent advisor ready to help you with this situation!

    You can't have 2 Gamertag on the same account, probably are very similar emails, but not exactly the same, a single character makes the difference, for example confusing a uppercase "I" with a lowercase "L" or domains, instead of .com could be .es, this are only examples.

    Ok I finally found where the problem came from. On the desktop application in the profile there is the same email address as on the web but it is the address used for the local Microsoft store that appears, not the email address used to connect to the gamepass! That's what confused me. The address used on the Xbox desktop app is quite different.

    Changing a gamertag to a different Microsoft account from Windows

    Thanks a lot for your replies Cajun and D3ath. But I'm facing another problem when switching the email id of the account.

    Here's the situation:

    *** Die E-Mail-Adresse wurde aus Datenschutzgründen entfernt. ***: The account with the gamertag I want.

    *** Die E-Mail-Adresse wurde aus Datenschutzgründen entfernt. ***: The live account that I want to switch to.

    *** Die E-Mail-Adresse wurde aus Datenschutzgründen entfernt. *** also had a gamertag that I don't care about. So I switched the email id of *** Die E-Mail-Adresse wurde aus Datenschutzgründen entfernt. *** to some temporary gmail id. This step worked. Now I can log in with the temporary gmail id into live accounts and also on gamesforwindows.com.

    Now when I try to switch the email id of *** Die E-Mail-Adresse wurde aus Datenschutzgründen entfernt. *** account to *** Die E-Mail-Adresse wurde aus Datenschutzgründen entfernt. ***, I get an error saying *** Die E-Mail-Adresse wurde aus Datenschutzgründen entfernt. *** isn't available.

    Any suggestions?
