Been having problems connecting to private chat and so are my friends. Something wrong with Chat?

There is a mic on the Kinect. Not sure if that's what you are asking, but there is a setting under Kinect settings which is called something like, "use Kinect for chat". If you check that you can speak to others without using the mic connected to the controller. Sometimes you won't hear others and they won't hear you if they are in"private chat". I think their speakers still light up in private chat. Not sure how old your kid is but some of the chat can be very adult. A youngster will certainly learn some new vocab words.

It's not my connection it's only private chat and i'm not the only one having this problem.

 

Hey peps I'am having some problem trying to talk through private chat. It's like its trying to connect and some times I get the message: couldn't join private chat. And on top of the message there is this x and besides that it says Xbox live. I mean you
don't need to have Xbox live to private chat right?
