Privacy status keeps changing

Recently in the last couple weeks some of my friends have been getting slightly annoyed with an issue pertaining to my profile constantly appearing online and offline and constantly getting notifications for it. When I go onto my profile it will have the
option to appear offline but on the left it might say that I'm offline already without having ever changed it. Then it'll just appear online again for no reason at all. I still have some friends who basically since day one don't get any notifications about
anybody except for party and game invites. Also, just a couple days ago I stopped getting message notifications and then sometimes get them after I've read the message. Can anybody tell me what is happening? Its a tad bit irritating

Are you playing backward compatible games? If so, you have to hit Menu and Share at the same time to access the Xbox360 menu and do it there also. I found that out the hard way.

If the post above doesn't solve the issue then there is a setting in the privacy settings settings - account - privacy & online safety - (Preview program members will see Xbox live privacy or app privacy click xbox live privacy) - Custom - View details &
customize - Others can see if you are online, Decide who can see that you are online and what you are doing.

Make sure it's set to everyone or friends only.

And may i ask are you in the Xbox one preview program because i see players with issues similar to this that are in the program.

Change your privacy settings.

Change it to friends only specially for the online status.

He will not see when your online.

Hey, one way to ensure he can't keep following you is for you and your friend to change your privacy settings so that random players on Xbox live can't see your online status. You may not want to keep it that way, but if someone is bugging you they won't
be able to join your session if you're offline.

Also if you believe the player to be cheating you can use the console's reporting feature to file a complaint.

Have you changed your privacy settings, specifically online status to 'friends only'? Are you playing with friends? Have they changed their privacy settings to 'friends only'? If you or your friends don't change their privacy settings, then if they can't
get to you, they will simply try to join your games via your friends.

If you and your friends change your privacy settings, it should stop these people from joining you in the future.
