Privacy settings blocking Messaging on iPhone

Hi,

When I try to send messages on the app to friends, I get an error saying that I need to "Change your privacy settings for communications". I have tried to update my privacy settings, I have tried to re-install the app, I have tried restarting my iPhone.
This was on my first iPhone. (iPhone 7 running iOS 10.1.1)

I then tried to use my second iPhone (iPhone 5 running iOS 10.2 Beta 7) and the same error message popped up stating that I need to change my privacy settings in order to message.

That being said however, I tried to use my iPad (iPad 3rd Generation running iOS 9.3.5) and the message went through without a hitch.

I've spoken to a few friends that have iPhones and they too can't send messages from their devices.

I have contacted Microsoft Support about this issue and was told that the issue is known and that I should post this on the Xbox Forum.

I hope there is a fix coming along the way.

Message don’t work.

Same here. Spent an hour online with XBOX support but no success. They suggested I had a "blocker" of some kind on my iPhone. There are no settings either on the phone or in my privacy setting for Xbox that seem to prevent messaging. Besides, it works
fine on the console or in Windows 10 on my browser. If it was an XBOX account privacy setting I am assuming it would prevent messaging on all platforms.

HELP PLS

There is a possibility that your privacy settings are blocking message sending. Also, if you are on a "child" account messaging and multiplayer may be blocked. Check your privacy settings here:

Im having the same issues but with party's this is a joke how nothing is working.

Belatedly, on the 360, the message is this:

Premium content is blocked for this profile.

To change your privacy and online settings, go to settings, privacy.

I don't know how or why this block is in place, and going to settings, privacy, there doesn't seem to be a useful option there to fix it.

You can set your communications to friends only and block in the Xbox Live Privacy settings of your account or console. There is also new message settings in Xbox Live Privacy settings on your console that can help in blocking unwanted communications.
