Privacy and safety settings

So I just got my Xbox one Saturday and I've been playing fine for a while then on Sunday I got off of work and I got on my Xbox. So I was in a party and all of a sudden I couldn't hear anyone in the party and no body could hear me either, I thought maybe
my privacy settings changed but when I tried to open them all it said was "your privacy settings are in effect but can't be changes until we connect to the service". I've been trying to find what thateans and trying to fix it since then please if anyone has
any solutions or any ideas to what "service" I have to connect too , please help this is very frustrating and I don't know what to do anymore somebody please help!

Sorry to hear about the party chat issue. It sounds like there might be some NAT restrictions. I would start by doing a full power cycle. To do that, follow the steps below!

• Press and hold the power button on the Xbox One console for 10 seconds.
  
• Once the unit is powered off, unplug the power cable from the Xbox One and let it sit for 5 minutes.
  
• Plug the power back into the unit and power the console on.
