    Why is there no support in terms of backwards compatibility for everything Prince of Persia as in referring to the original game? I see that the newer version is supported. I would hope that all fans of the original game in whatever format it is in can
    play it on the Xbox One or Xbox One S at some point.

    Are you trying to play the more recent Prince of Persia title? The Prince of Persia title that is backward compatible isn't available on disc, it's the remake of the classic that was

    released digitally     on the Xbox 360. The more recent Prince of Persia game isn't currently backward compatible.
