    Hello, i just purchased an xbox Series S and was wandering ca i have both consoles set as my ptimary?

    So my Xbox One S will be my primary for that generation, and my Xbox Series S will be my primary for that generation?

    Or do they count as the same console in regards to primary?

    I ask as my gf bought my fifa 21 on her account, and for me to be able to play it on the new Xbox S id have to transfer her primary to the new xbox, however this means i cant access her library on the old gen anymore

    Actually, what you did is correct. Its just that, if you claim an xbox 360 game online, it will only show Download to 360 since that is indeed for the 360. But once you claim(shows already owned), then you can just search the game on your xbox one using
    the same profile under your Ready to Install games, it will show there.

    It sounds like the upstairs console needs to be setup as the Home for the Primary account.

    If you setup the upstairs console as the Home for the primary account , you can then add all of the family accounts to that console. Any family account will be able to access the digital games and live features without the Primary needing to be logged in.
    The primary just has to be on the account.

    The Basement can have the primary account on there and it will not interfere with the upstairs console when the primary logs into it. If any of the Family accounts want to use the games on the Basement console then they would have to log the primary
    account in as well.

    I have it setup in my house where the "kids" console in the living room is my Home console with all of the profiles on the system. the Den console just has my profile. I'm able to play on my console while they play on theirs with no interference.

    It will only set the console as your primary console if you change your Home setting. Saving it so you login automatically does not designate a console as your primary console.

    Saying I don't need to change my primary console from my ps4 to my ps5 (sold.the ps4)

    Ironically ps4 ps3 and vita had to be primary designated annoyed me

    Go to the other console and quickly tap on the Guide button in the center of the controller (Silver with a green X cut in it) which will invoke the Guide Menu. Press the blue (X) button to make sure you are signed out then choose
    Download Profile from the menu, which will ask for your Microsoft Account addresse and its password. Enter those, and Voila! It downloads your profile.
