    I have had an xbox 360 for many years. I upgraded to an xbox one 40 days ago. I still sometimes use the xbox 360. I saw that you could download the 360 "free games with gold" games to the xbox one. I went online to xbox.com and logged in. It says I am using
    an xbox 360. When I went to download a game, the only option was to download to the 360, not to my xbox one. I read the blurb about making sure your console is set to "primary" and I followed the steps in my xbox one console, settings, all settings, personal
    settings, primary console and it said my xbox one was my primary console. So now I am stumped. xbox.com doesn't seem to know I even have an xbox one, and my xbox one is telling me that it is my primary console on my account. What should I do?

    account not permitted to download content with a certain rating?

    I'm having a similar problem here. Joined.a family pack with the hubby, listing me as primary.. now he can't access the gears 3 trailer. He's 29, had his account on live 6 freakin years... trying to find a solution w/out starting up a new gamertag. Any ideas?

    MS's Perfect Road Map for Xbox

    I don't claim to be right. I am just speaking from the general consumer perspective. As a consumer if MS was able to do this list I would be happy. To be fair I'm a hard core gamer, I own all the consoles. I post on ign. I'll probably get a scorpio no matter what and make it my primary console. The pot would be a whole lot sweeter if ms can pull off this list. What's your list Indie?

    Actually, what you did is correct. Its just that, if you claim an xbox 360 game online, it will only show Download to 360 since that is indeed for the 360. But once you claim(shows already owned), then you can just search the game on your xbox one using
    the same profile under your Ready to Install games, it will show there.

    License Transfers - New Consoles





    You can transfer your content licenses to your new console by following these steps on the console you wish to transfer the licenses to:



    1. Navigate to the Settings Hub and select Account.
    2. Select License Transfer.
    3. Carefully read the prompt and select Continue.


    The License Transfer process can also be completed online here. Please be aware however that this process can only be completed ONCE EVERY 4 MONTHS



    • As said, this can only be completed once every 4 months, so DO NOT transfer your licenses onto a secondary console unless you wish that console to be the primary console to use your DLC.


    • The point of the license transfer is so you can play your content whenever you wish, whether that be offline or online. If you are on a console without the licenses, the account will not be able to use the content unless it is connected to LIVE.


    • Any console with the account that purchased the DLC will be able to access the DLC as long as that account is on the console, regardless if the licenses are on that console or not.


    • Any other profile that is on the same console as the primary account that purchased the DLC will also be able to access the DLC as long as the primary profile remains on that console.

    Hmm, interesting. Well, off the top of my head the thing most likely to cause that would be if the account in question was the primary, but I'm guessing that's not the case here.

    • Let's try redownloading both the primary and the secondary account onto the console.
    • If it prompts you to proof up/agree to ToU/anything else on the accounts, please go ahead and do that.
    • Then, try removing the account again. Any good?

    Unfortunately not, it appears the primary/lead account is always the one used to purchase the membership.
