Prices of downloads

Why is lego movie game £49.99 to download and £39.99 from game.co.uk (and $59.99 = £35.85 in the US). the XboxOne can't deliver UK TV smoothly, has no TV guide, can't run many games in 1080p and 60fps and were expected to pay a 25% more to download games!
Nothing that was promised has been delivered. How very disappointing! "Just wait it will all be alright" is seeming like a desperate ploy by microsoft. Surely there is an argument for an XBoxOne redesign with similar architecture and more power (and a
bigger hard drive). I am committed to the concept and would buy another if it actually worked. The XBox one in this iteration has already lost to PS4. Seriously considering just buying a PS4 unplugging my TV from the XBox and buying third party games on
cheaper disks for the PS4 with it's better graphics. So sad it's turned out this way., really wanted it to work out.

Gears of War 2 download price.

Hey there, I'm wanting to download Gears of War 2 before the third one comes out, so I went to the page on xbox . com and it said it was 19.99, so I said ok then I'll buy it but when I clicked the button to buy it, it said it was now 29.99, I was just wondering
what's going on with this so I know I'm getting the game at the right price, please let me know ASAP.

nevermind guys, I found out it said 19.99 in euros and it's actually 29.99 in american dollars

Game prices are set by the developers, not Microsoft. So generally they are priced at MSRP.

And if you think the grass will be greener on ps4 with digital downloads you will be mistaken.

From experience of owning a ps3 almost all digital games are more expensive than they are on xbox. Ive seen games for 60 quid on there in the past when in shops they are less than 40.

My issue with the price is the disparity between the physical disc prices and the digital download price in the UK. If this is just because shops won't stock it otherwise, then they should sell download codes in the shops at a cheaper price, or even a disc
version that enables to you install a download version without downloading it online and comes with a download code to enable the content.

I don't think they will offer downloaded titles any cheaper than on disk. If they had any intention of doing that, they'd be doing it already. But xbox marketplace DOES drop the prices of downloaded games as they get older and the disc copies decrease, but
they keep the downloads at the same price as NEW (not used) copies. Check it on Game Stop .com right now, you'll see the xbox marketplace price is the same price as a new copy of any game you look up.

Used discs, however, are MUCH cheaper than downloads. They should match the used copy price, not the new copy price, and many more people would buy the downloads.

I download most of my games on 360. of course I check the prices though. if its cheaper on disc then i'll buy it on disc, but if it's the same price, i'll just download it.
