    I have used this profile for a good few years, live and none - now after not playing live for a good while I tried to go live and the message comes up: The current profile is not allowed to play on Xbox.

    Redid avatar, entered email, password, etc. all that's good, yet tried to go on Live and still no good...!

    This site says to shut it off and redo - etc. no good!

    Does anyone know what this issue could be?

    Do you have a Gold subscription? To play online multiplayer you must have the Gold subscription.

    If that is not the case the profile may have been banned.

    where do I find the chat support, on this site - or do I have to do it from the 360 players, and if the latter is to be, how can one do so if they are not allowed online on X-box

    Actually the message you get is what you see when you don't have gold so that is the normal message you would receive.

    I had a Gold membership for a few years back when, then a couple years ago I let it lapse due to my not playing - However yesterday I saw my 9-year-old grandson playing Call of Duty as used to back when, and I asked how he was able to play it Live - he
    said he just went on and it allowed Free playing - I was amazed at how that could be? Now, this little guy is not capable of hacking or whatever, in fact, he barely even knows how to play. So today I decided to see for myself and that's when I ran into this
    issue! I am ok if someone has to have to have Gold to play but it seems that it would mention, "Gold Membership needed to play", etc., not the message I got... so what do you all think?

    Hi, perhaps your gold subscription expired? That would mean not being able to play online with the account.
