Previously Owned Digital Titles on Xbox 360 Not Appearing for Eligible Download on Xbox One ...

First of all, why on Earth is so unbearably hard and irritating to find where to post a question to the Xbox forums?

Why can I not get my games back? I can count off a list of games I purchased digitally or got free of charge on my (now broken-then-thrown away Xbox 360). [Note that I kept the same profile and data]

-Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare [3 of 4 DLC's]

-Call of Duty: Ghosts [More than 10 DLC'S]

-Minecraft [3 Skin Packs and Every Texture Pack]

    -Slender: The Arrival

-South Park: The Stick of Truth

    -The Evil Within

    -The Walking Dead: Season One

    -The Walking Dead: Season Two

(Not to mention about 30+ more 360 titles, which aren't yet available for Xbox One, but I know probably will be in the future)

I want answers. I hate to say it because I have the feeling. But if the answer to this question is that I have to repurchase all of this again, I (would, if it wasn't for Fallout 4 and Grand Theft Auto V) slowly break and melt my Xbox One console and accessories
on YouTube for the entire world to see, and in it clearly and repeatedly state my reasons. However, I do promise to never purchase any Tango Gameworks, Telltale, Blue Isle Studio, and/or Neversoft products again. It would be utter, complete, and total B.S.
if I have to pay full price twice for one game and it's downloads - for only the reason that the makers do it because they can without any real reason but the statement that it is on a new platform.

You better have a reason Microsoft.

    :)

Some of these games aren't backwards compatible - they have separate versions available on the two platforms. Backwards compatibility is a feature to allow you to play supported Xbox 360 titles on your Xbox One, but some of these games are actual Xbox One
titles, not Xbox 360 titles made compatible with the emulation of backwards compatibility.

Sometimes publishers will do "upgrade deals" where you can get the Xbox One version at a reduced price, or even free, if you owned the game on Xbox 360; Activision did this with both Call of Duty games on your list, and Mojang/Microsoft did it with Minecraft,
but these deals are typically time-restricted and all have expired now. These games would need to be repurchased if you wish to play on Xbox One.

Other games on your list are also separate versions on Xbox One, including Slender: The Arrival, The Evil Within and both seasons of The Walking Dead.

I guess that only leaves South Park: The Stick of Truth on your list, which is not currently supported with backwards compatibility, but could be in future. You can vote to have it added here:

I'm sorry this is absolutely not the answer you want to hear, but I hope it helps clarify what is going on.

    South Park is backwards compatible.

Any digital 360 items that you bought that are backwards compatible should be in your install list under "my games & apps",then "games" & scroll to the far right as long as you are using the same account that bought them on the 360.

Your Minecraft skins & texture packs should be there but you would need to buy the xbox one version of Minecraft.

You can find a list of backwards compatible games here

Sorry, yes, South Park is backwards compatible. I missed it on the list because it's filed under T instead of S.

As for DLCs, for backwards compatible games you would not need to repurchase them - but most of the games you're talking about are not backwards compatible, they are games that have separate versions released on each platform. Some games, like Minecraft
as Badger mentions, will support cross-platform availability of DLC you have purchased for a game on another platform, but that is up to the publisher to decide.

Addressing some specific points you make, CoD Ghosts had an "upgrade price" of £10/$10 for the first five months or so for owners of the Xbox 360 version, but that expired in March 2014. If you came to Xbox One after this time, that would be why you did
not see the discounted price. Similarly, a year later Advanced Warfare was *free* to download if you owned the Xbox 360 version, and that expired in March 2015. Again, these types of discounts are set and decided by the publisher. However, these are not backwards
compatible games, this is a different concept.

A question about Xbox 360 game discs and the Xbox One

    Hello Devil Ownpag,

You appear to have answered several of your own questions regarding Backwards Compatibility (BC). BC works in two ways:

    1) If you previously purchased a 360 title that is on the BC list from the Xbox 360 Marketplace, then that digital title carries over to the Xbox One. You will just have to check your My Games and Apps > Scroll to Games > and then scroll right to Ready to
Install to view the available digital downloads of games that are available to you.

    2) If you own physical copies of the game (discs) you will need to insert that disc every time you want to play that specific BC title. When you insert the disc for the first time, your console will prompt you to download the game to your hard drive, allowing
the console to play the 360 title. It does not allow you to then download a digital version of the game. You must have the physical copy inserted.

So for a brief recap: You can either have digital licenses from previous purchases from your Xbox 360 OR you play with a physical copy of the game. Make sure to check out the Full FAQ for Backwards Compatibility on the Xbox One here,

    Hope this post helped!

Xbox One owners miss out on 360 Games that are Backward Compatible?

^Guess I never thought about downloading it for free through Xbox.com... But still, I am curious if there will be anything available for Xbox One owners (who previously owned a 360) who hadn't downloaded these titles due to the generation jump.
