    Previously owned 360 games for backwards compatibility to work?


    Good morning all, new poster with a question re: backwards compatibility. I never owned an Xbox 360 but jumped onboard the Xbox One bandwagon with much excitement. I didn't think much of the backwards compatibility as I had no previous 360 library. However,
    first half of April has shown Dead Space to be on the Games with Gold list. Who can pass that classic up?

    The problem I'm having is, whenever I try to 'purchase' Dead Space in the Xbox Store (via the Xbox One), there's an error in my purchase. All I can do is pin the tile to my Games and Apps. It doesn't show up in the 'Ready to Install' managing games/apps/queue
    or anything like that

    My question is: do you have to have previously owned 360 games in order to take advantage of the backwards compatibility? Or am I just going to have to keep trying via the Xbox Store and slog through whatever error is going on?

    Region Free and Backwards Compatibility?

    PS4 isn't providing Backward compatibility. Just the ability to rebuy ps3 games from the digital store (yet you wont have your old game progress if you owned it previously)

    Xbox 360 games DLC one Xbox One?

    As far as I know, all dlc for any game that is available for use with the xbox one backwards compatibility works fine as long as you owned it previously. I have many games installed for use with dlc and I have yet to experience any issues.

    You install purchased Xbox 360 games just as any other One title. They will be in the ready to Install section of My Games and Apps.

    If it is not there, then your purchase hasn't gone through.

    purchase on the xbox store through your pc or phone then go to your install list on the xbox one and install.

    seemed like it was just an error through the purchase process -- something worked itself out, free Dead Space on my Xbox One complete...thanks guys

    If you tried over the weekend I think the servers were playing up as I tried to download Alan wake but it kept saying there was an issue, tried yesterday evening and all was fine
