Preview update not downloading and causing errors. Making console un-usable

I am apart of the preview program. An my xbox one is trying to download an update, an it is failing. I have talked to support, with no fix. I have tried offline updating, with no fix. I have factory reset my console an completely reset everything multiple
times, with no luck. An the error its giving me is system error: E101 00000504 8b050041. After looking this up and taking to support I have to send my console in for repairs. At the cost of just buying a brand new console. Am I SOL? Do i just wait until a
new update comes out. In hopes that the new update fixes it. When downloading this update it says "something wrong with our services right now." An I have looked at xbox.com/status an it mentions nothing of this. I have tried over several days. What am I to
try next.

Removing account from Preview program

Hello,

I recently un enrolled my Xbox from the preview program and am still having issues. It claims I am still a preview member even after un enrolling. I don't want to be in the preview program any longer because its causing issues with my Xbox. How can my
console be rid of the preview program. Please Help.

 

Mandatory first update issue

The mandatory first update will not update. My xbox one is a glorified paper weight. I'm downloading the offline troubleshooter, I shouldn't have to. Making the xbox one only usable after an update is retarted, making the troubleshooting systems to fix issues
like this only available after this update is super retarted. Should have gotten a PS4, at least they have their *** together.

Even with the factory reset, corrupt cached data may still be present (as often happens with the account). Try first to perform a

power cycle and restart the update. Sometimes you have to try again several times to start the download...

Also, does your internet work normally?

 

I have tried completely cycling the system. An my internet has worked fine. Tried wired an wireless. an have cycled that too.

 

I'll show you the official procedure for offline updates.

To perform this update, you will need:

• A Windows-based PC with an Internet connection and a USB port;
• A USB flash drive with a minimum of 4 GB of space formatted as NTFS (with
  Fat32 it will not work).
  

Most USB flash drives like formatted as FAT32 and will have reformatted to NTFS. Note that formatting to USB flash drive for this procedure will be all files on it. Back up or transfer any files on your flash drive before you format the drive.

How to format a flash drive to NTFS on Windows.

• Plug your USB flash drive into a USB port on your computer;
• Open the Offline System Update
  OSU1 file;
• Click to save the console update .zip file to your computer;
• Unzip the file. For all Windows OS versions, unzip the file by right-clicking on the file and selecting Extract from the pop-up menu;
• Copy the $SystemUpdate (it's very important) file from the .zip file to your flash drive.

Notes: The files should be copied to the root directory,
and there should be no other files on the flash drive.

Unplug the USB flash drive from your computer.

 

yes i have done this. thats where i get the e101 error.

 

Have you also tried the Offline System Update option on the
Xbox Startup screen? (holding down the bind and
eject buttons).

 

Hi, offline updates don't work for Insider Preview.

 

It depends on the update on the SO. Of course, the rollback isn't possible, but in this case it was necessary to try in case the existing version was lower. You'll have to wait for a higher update or try again to update online.

The power cycle and the reset to the factory settings were enough for me (when it happened to me), more than this cannot be done...

I used to be a part of the preview program and one of the updates endes up murdering my X with the dreaded E105 error. Honestly just open up a repair ticket with MS at this point, and remove yourself from the insider program. Theyll repair the console,
youll get it back and things will be back to normal. I havent had any issues since dropping the insider program and having my console repaired.

 

the only problem with that is that the cost was the same as buying a brand new console without the wait. this is bs

 

I had the same issue. Trouble shoot menu reset will fix it. I messed around with this for 2hrs. Took OSU1 to fail and OSU2 to fail for me to find out about the trouble shoot menu. I used the "keep games and app" option. To get to trouble shoot menu:

Power cycle or remove from power source for 30secs

Turn on while holding bind and eject buttons

On 2nd chime, release buttons

You are at trouble shoot menu

Should work. I was angry worked 3, 12hr days to come home and not be able to play. The above steps should help.
