Preview Programme Xbox - cant update offline using USB

Ive been talking to xbox support for 4 hours, my xbox wont start up, and im trying to restore and update via usb. they couldnt help me any further as i needed the preview programme tech team or something.

I have spent all day restarting my xbox, unplugging everything etc.

I have been holding the Bind and Eject buttons to get to the troubleshoot menu but the option to update offline via usb is blacked out and non-selectable. i think this is because i do not have the right OS file on the memory stick (because of the preview
programme).

Time to update (Preview Programme)

Hi,

I left the preview programme back in June and haven't got an update since then.

When I try to load certain apps/games I get a screen saying " it's time to update" and then a screen straight away saying "there was a problem with the update".

I have tried everything from an offline update, factory reset and deleting everything offf my xbox.

An xbox support advisor has tried and failed to help me with this problem and thinks that the problem may be because of the preview programme.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this? Would being invited back into the preview programme fix this?

opt out preview programme

You can un-enrol on your Xbox, by going to the Xbox Preview Dashboard app and un-enrolling from the preview updates. This will only change to stop the updates once the current update wave has ended.

Ya you can't do it like that the offline tool is only for regular os not the beta os

You have to download it from live

 

Okay how do i do that? i clicked factory reset, and it failed multiple times, but finally worked, and on the update stage it said nothing needed to be updated .. but the home screen doesnt work, keeps crashing and is so so buggy?

 

Because you are still in the beta which is a higher build

You need to wait for.the.mail.telling you you are removed then wait for.the public release of the preview which is not for awhile

 

I think the next release isnt till Sept could be wrong

Support told me to post it right here (they sent me the link) as non of the forums on that preview programme link you sent are open. So i cannot ask anything anywhere through there

 

Ok in that case, one of the official Support people in the forums may be able to set up access to those forums

 

Okay and how do I go about setting that up?
