Preview Program Questions for people NOT in the Preview

Wanted to make a forum for people who are NOT in the Preview Program and may want to ask people who ARE in the Preview Program some question, if anyone is in the Preview Program, would you mind checking this thread and answering questions from time to time?

My first question, if you have the Media App, can it be played in the background? thanks

I haven't got the Media App in preview yet so I can't answer yet. I know it can be snapped but I don't know if it keeps playing when unsnapped. Good question which I'm sure you will get an answer to very soon.

 

there is no NDA on the dashboard preview... so no.. this is not against the rules

 

i just got into the preview but cant do much im guessin i have to wait for the enrollment to finish cause it says pending but i just got a message for me to download the media player app and i did but wont work cause im guess i need to be enrolled first?

 

as long as this doesn't turn into a thread full of people asking for invites, it should be fine. just a note .. PLEASE don't use this as an outlet to ask for invites.

 

I got a code from Major Nelson at Gamescom and i'm still waiting for the preview. Hope its not long now

 

well as of now i got movies to kind of work each movie has to be in its own folder if u have a lot on a external hdd ..hopefully they will fix this

 

To the OP I tried it out this morning for movies and music and the Answer to your Question is NO, music cannot be played in the background, the app can be minimised to the home screen but opening up another game or app cancels any playback from Media app.
Having said that it did work fault free for me so it's a win so far. Now bring on that DNLA part and it's gold.

 

i hook up my 3tb hdd to it and mp3 stop playin like 15 sec into it and says try a different folder it took a long time to gather all your media for playback please try a different folder ... im guess its not ready for large hdds yet

 

I did have that happen on a random song I had downloaded from somewhere, it just stopped about the same time in. I then deleted it and loaded up songs from my ITunes library and they worked fine. I'll have to check the format the first song was in. I was
only using a 4gb stick.

 

found a work around the problem if i click on the main folder all my music is in and click play all it will work music will play till the end so i have to shuffle threw all my music
