    Preview Program not showing external HDD and not letting me Unenroll, any ideas?


    Ever since I installed the preview program my system is not showing my external HDD. I tested it on other consoles and devices and it works perfectly, I also did all of the normal troubleshooting (full reset, different USB ports) and nothing has worked.

    I requested to unenroll my Xbox from the preview program but I have been stuck on Unenroll pending for a week now. Is there anything I can do about this? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Can’t levae preview program

    I have tried to unenroll in the preview program in order to play Minecraft with my friends (they don’t have preview). It is telling me it’s taking too long and it wont unenroll me. I have tried evweyrhing in the support page please help.

    Hello, my account on the xbox preview program, I accidentally chose unenroll and wish to undo that action as I don't want to go through the burden of factory resetting my console and have been a preview program member for a year now, please assist me

    I accidentally hit confirm on the unenroll option as I was viewing the dev mode activation prior to viewing the ability that I could unenroll in the preview program but in m mistake of it wasn't sure what menu I was in for the preview program as the menus
    are complicated, and accidentally chose unenroll, I wish to have the action undone, and still be a preview member as the main worry is so I DO NOT I repeat I DO NOT HAVE TO FACTORY RESET MY CONSOLE, thank you, please respond within a day or two my valuable
    microsoft, and xbox support

    un-enrolling your console doesn't mean you can rollback the software on your Xbox to the previous release version. What happens is your console will be removed from the preview program when the current Preview update you have at the moment is released to
    the general public - so it won't happen right away. Until then, your console's status will show as Pending.

    In the meantime it might be worth posting in the preview hardware/accessories forum to see if the preview team have any suggestions which might help.

    Are you in the preview program by any chance?

    I had this the other day after an update. When I checked, I had been in the preview program. Unenrolling fixed it. Best thing to do would be to unenrol from the program and see if the problem persists. Bare in mind that after you unenrol, you will have to
    run through the initial setup of your xbox again.

    Xbox had system update last night now it's not recognizing external hard drive

    What are you using the external HDD for (Games & Apps or External Captures)? Are you in the Dashboard Preview program?

    If External Captures and yes to Dashboard Preview then please use the report feature of the Xbox Insider app to let them know about your issue. My console is in Preview Alpha and I noticed that the last update seems to have affected how it sees my External
    Capture HDD.

    If your console isn't in Dashboard Preview then try connecting your HDD to a computer to see if it's recognized there. It may be a coincidence however unfortunately HDD'S do die eventually.

    I do not want to receive beta updates

    If not wanting to participate in the preview program anymore you can use the preview dashboard app to unenroll yourself from the program.

    Just start the app, go to registrations and change the status of your console there.

    Please be aware that your unenrolling will be pending until the current wave gets public as you cannot be released during a rolling wave. So once the October preview is rolled out finally you will then be unenrolled from the preview program.
