Preview program - Constant console updates

Hey there,

So I am in the preview program and am wondering why there is constant console updates every single day. It used to be maybe once or twice a week, but having my console update everyday is frustrating. I knew I was going to be getting updates by being in the
program, but not daily updates.

Can someone explain to me why this is happening, I really do not wish to deal with this anymore. Microsoft need to slow down on these updates as they do not make any noticable differences and waste a lot of my already constrained time.

Re assigned to Preview Program without my consent

Recently I have been receiving a lot of large updates for my console. I decided to check the preview program app and discovered that I had been signed up to the preview program without my prior consent or knowledge. I had previously been using the program
several months ago and decided to opt out due to the constant spam of console updates. I did not realize at the time that my console would be factory reset. To my horror I discovered today that I had been again signed up for constant updating without my knowledge
or consent in the matter. As I do not want to be a part of the program, receiving near daily 400mb updates which interrupt my gaming, but also do not want to re install all of my games, I am stuck in this current position. Any advice would be appreciated.

Metalmilitia625 -- are you in the Preview program? I posted this same message in the Preview Program forums, just in case, since I am in the Preview program and there are Preview updates on my console.

They're just pushing out fixes daily now to get everything tested for the public release which is supposed to hit soon.

If you no longer wish to get daily updates you can choose to opt out of it by opening the Preview App, clicking on "registration" selecting "Change" and "remove"

There are some issues that can occur with opting out at the moment which are stated in the registration area of the app

Hello, you may be getting constant console updates because you are part of a Preview Program, if you wish to change this you can go the Xbox Insider App on your Xbox and go to: Previews > Xbox Update Preview > Manage. You can change to a preview that would
fit more to your liking or unenroll from a preview completely if this is the case, hope this helps!

Change the Insider preview ring your console is enrolled in.

According to the link provided above the last update for General Availability was in July.

If your console is completely turned off and power removed, your console will miss the regular system updates for the preview, usually about 600-700 MB. If you miss a preview update and another is released the complete OS system, about 4.5 GB, will need to be downloaded to ensure the console has the latest update for that preview ring.

I'm in Alpha Skip Ahead preview and manually do at least 3 updates a week.

The other preview rings have less updates each week and the Omega ring has the least.

If you don't like the constant updates to the System OS it may be to your advantage to unenroll the console from the Insiders program.

If your experiencing constant updates then you are in the preview program most likely. most of the time the preview program content is brand new and can have some bugs if you would like to opt-out

I no longer wish to participate in the Xbox One Update Preview. How can I stop participating in this or other previews?

Leaving the Xbox One Update Preview is just as easy as joining it. You can remove yourself from the Xbox One Update Preview by following these steps:

Launch the Xbox Insider Hub on your Xbox One console.
On the main landing page, select Insider content.
Under System, select Xbox One Update Preview.
Select Join or Manage.
At the very bottom select Unenroll.

Note: This process typically takes an average of 10 minutes to complete.
