Preview game licensing issue

I also spent 2 hrs text chatting with a rep on my console while all he wanted to do was tell me it was because I had the home xbox not set. Even though I told him 4 times it definitely was. It took me calling this morning to fibd out it is a licensing issue.
Add the issue of nkt being able to post on the preview/ early access forum, and the 40 min I spent with a rep trying to get it to work, and I'm just a little frustrated with the process customers must go through to get a problem resolved.

 

There is a temporary workaround, it is to purchase the games and add ons using xbox.com or the Xbox app on Windows 10, Android, Kindle or ios. If you do that then the games will work on any xbox one you use.

 

I already purchased the games. That would work for future purchases. I need a solution to playing the 3 that are already purchased. I also was told by support that they weren't sure why they couldn't refund my money. One of the options they wanted to try
was refunding the purchase and trying to buy it again because they thought the issue might be resolved now. If there is a way this fix will work with the games I already own and should be able to play, please let me know.

 

You can play those games on another xbox one console only if the other xbox one console is also in the preview program. Take a look at this link

I just tried a link to post on the preview forum again. The forum system doesnt recognize that I am a preview member, so I can't post there. Noticed a post like mine and xbox official guy mister cizi said to post to preview forum. Kind of hard when the system
to do so is broken. This is avery poor avenue to give customers to get help. I also think it is absurd that a bunch of people on a forum have more info than 2 paid reps for xbox support.

 

You should be able to post in here and ask for access to the early access forums

For the umpteenth billionth time, it didn't work. The links are correct, but it say group not found when I use them.

 

That link I gave was not for the actual preview forums, they are the forums to ask to get access to the preview forums, but as you are getting the group not found message, then Microsoft need to fix that, possibly by moving those forums out of the Early
Access section so preview users can at least ask to get access to the preview forums. Sorry for the confusion, I obviously misunderstood.

 

I'm not sure if this will help make things a little clearer but here goes. This is taken from the preview forums announcement section.

• Certain content (games, apps, DLC) purchased in the new Store may only be available on consoles enrolled in the latest Preview update. This means…

• Games purchased on a console running the latest Preview update can only be played on that console or other consoles running the latest Preview update.

• Games purchased via Xbox.com can be played on any console.

• Games purchased on a console running the previous update can be played on any console.

Posting on the preview forums won't yield much help as it's a known issue which isn't fixable on a single account, until the update goes public there's little anyone can do.

 

Guess I need to quit preview. Im still fristrated that 3 support employees I have talked to on the phone are not aware of this. It is also a silly thing for xbox to do.

Hello again, I fully understand your frustration and can assure you that you are not alone. Quitting the preview won't fix the issue I'm afraid as you will then be unable to play the games on the console that was used to purchase them and any other console.

There was another system update rolled out today which I was hoping would have a fix but looking at the notes the situation remains the same. Please hang in there and this will be resolved sooner rather than later I'm sure.

 

There is sonething they can do for a single account. Allow me to purchase it a second time on the same acct and refund the transaction. Otherwise they want me to pay twice for the same game on a single acct. Preview sucks!!!! Great job xbox team!!!!

 

It's not that you will have to pay for the games again, you already have the license to play the game it's just that the latest preview has messed things up a little. Once the update is released publicly you will be able to play the games on any console
just as you could before.

I'm sure that the folks over at preview central want to get this fixed just as much as those of us in your situation, there's no saying something like this won't happen again during another preview but glitches etc are expected and a part of being a preview
member.

You can of course remove your Xbox from the preview at any time, right now though that would mean you losing the ability to play the games at all until the update goes public, at least now you can play the games to some extent.

Perhaps wait until after the public release and if you then do not wish to risk this situation again opt out. It's your choice of course.

 

My son stays with me in the summer. So no, he can't play them at all until he gets back to his dads, or the update goes public. The whole reason I posted on this forum is because thesupport reps on the phone said ut was the only way to resolve the issue.
They know nothing about this being part of the preview. Very easy fix, let me purchase again on the same acct but the xbox without preview, then refund the money.
