Discus and support Preview Console - where's support??? in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; I've been having problems with connecting to the Marketplace, and with chat.     Preview Console - where's support???


    I've been having problems with connecting to the Marketplace, and with chat. Swirling circle of death. For a while. Spent about 20 minutes with Microsoft Chat Support. I'm told that I have a Preview Console, and he can't help me. That there's a special section
    for Preview Support. BUT, it doesn't show up for me. Anywhere. And I only have one account, and one gamertag.

    My system is open, it's fully connected, all services good, it's DMZ'd, you name it - it's good. Online gaming (COD Advanced Warfare, for example) is good. Can connect to lobbies just fine. Although my mic indicator flashes when I talk, and no one can hear
    me. But my system always hangs when attempting to do anything with the marketplace. I have to initiate purchases, and the free gold games via the website.

    Had a problem with the Minecraft $4.99 promo. Followed the steps via official support forum, which requires deleting profile, and re-downloading. Went 100% on my 360. On my Xbone, I can't download my profile. I choose Add Profile, and it goes to swirling
    circle of death. With an "Unable" message (the same thing it does when I try to do anything on the marketplace through my xbone).

    Bad Company 2 is FrostBite 1.5. BF3 will be the first game with FrostBite 2.0.

    Can you clarify for me, what exactly did he mean by "Preview Console?" Is your console registered to the Preview Program? Or is he saying it's some sort of "early" console from before the system was officially launched? If he's saying it's Preview-Program
    related, the forums for that can be found here:

    If he means you have a console which was a "preview" version, I have never heard of that before. Let me know if you are in the preview but can't access the forums, I can submit your name to get forums access!

    Apparently it's part of the Preview Program, and I'm supposed to be able to see the Early Access tab. But, my profile was never provided permissions to view that. As an example; if I click the above link you provided, or the other one support sent me - I
    get "Group Not Found". Meaning, I don't have the permissions to view the group. And apparently Tech Support has their hands tied when it comes to Preview consoles. (yes, he did the misspelling, this is a CnP)

    Okay, my first step is going to be submitting your gamertag to the preview forums so they can update your access! Once you can get into the preview forums, you can post your issue on the November Update (1411) forum because they are still active, and I would
    also recommend PM'ing one of the Xbox Staff/Engineers like XB1R Kronos, Miss Portia, or any others you see with an "Official Staff" tag at the bottom of their profile card on the forums. This will definitely get you on the right track!

    I'll let you know as soon as I hear something on your forums access! Sometimes they PM the person having issues, so they may actually let you know themselves!

    So. Here's what's happened. After a couple days, still no support. Standard support says I have a Preview console, and won't help. Made contact with Preview support, they say I don't have a Preview console - but that they will get it all fixed up. There
    was the offer to enroll in Preview, but I didn't want to add more to a console that already wasn't working (the Preview app). And support hadn't happened. As an IT tech, I suspected that the issues were server related. Went through much, had seen on sites
    outside of here that there had been DNS issues. Changed the DNS, and I was able to download my profile.

    I'm not impressed with the lack of being provided the assistance needed - I don't think it's reasonable for there to be two days waiting for support.
