Prevent use of adult Xbox account

Passkey doesn’t help. To game share the account needs to be signed in i.e. the passkey already entered. I have tried passkey but can’t really see any difference from having to enter the account password.

I think a change to how passkey works would resolve the situation. If the account could be signed in with the password but when you try and switch profile to the adult account it asks for the passkey.

I don't know if you can set time restrictions for an adult account but you can set the age rating for games and content on your account to stop your children switching to it to play games that you don't want them to play.

on your account press the Xbox button on the controller then press the Right Bumper 3 times to get to the System tab and then select Settings.

in the left panel select Account.

on the right side of the screen select Content Restrictions.

it will show a box titled Access to Content.

press A and it will show the age ratings that are currently set.

press A again to bring up the drop down menu where you can select the age rating for content that can be accessed on your account.

you can set this for the age of your youngest child.

you can then set a pass key to prevent your children from changing this setting.

you can also set your account to log in automatically so your children won't need you to enter a password or pass key to log in to your account.

I had a problem with people having access to my account so I put a pass code on it to insure that my account was not accessible.

Thanks for the suggestions but I don’t think any of them solve the problem:

I’m not having an issue setting up the home console.

If I swap home to the other console it just moves the issue to that box (the children use both boxes and I rarely do)

Its not an issue of them spending money but of circumventing screen time restrictions and age limits so the privacy suggestion won’t work

Any more ideas?

when signed into the adult account go to the settings, and go to account>sign-in security & passkey tab and you should be able to put a passkey on it using the controller. this should prevent them from accessing your account

Set your childs console as your home, so they can have Gold without you are signed in, in the other console when you play, you are online and can use your Gold too.
