Pressing Pause does not pause the action?

Regardless of what game mode I am in. Private, public, solo, whatever, pressing pause just brings up the overlay of the pause menu but does not pause the action. Meaning that when I need to answer the call of nature, I either can't or I lose. Or if my son
wakes up during the night, I either leave him crying or I lose. Please tell me that this is not the new thinking of EA. Ignore everything and just game.

Someone got a tip?

Pause button not working on any remote in Netflix app

I can use the Pause button to pause, but pressing it again does not unpause it. This only happens in Netflix.

Yeah, but that could easily been avoided by pressing PAUSE.

Get to a hideout. Entering a hideout effectively pauses the game.

Thanks for that. I guess I should have been more specific. Is there a way to get the pause button to work like you would expect, especially when you are paying in single player mode?

Not that I've seen. One of the little tips/tricks that shows in between menus states something like "once you start racing you can't pause the action". I think that not being able to pause in the middle of the action is "by design".

60 plus hours. For those of you who want to know for sure how many gameplay hours you have you can check the save game file. It will have the hours played up to that point. It does not include the times you press the START button which essentially pauses
the game. For those who may argue pressing B pauses the game this is incorrect. B pauses the action so you can make selections just like if you push D-pad UP.
