Press "A" to start - sometimes doesn't work until restarting Xbox

I should work OK, but with both plugged in the HDMI auto switch over sometimes doesn't work. Try pressing the AV button on your TV until it shows the correct input for xbox. (Xbox will probably re-boot)

I'm having the same problem. Sometimes it gets to the "Press Start", sometimes it even freezes before that. The picture of the general that appears at the top of the start screen, sometimes shows up, sometimes it doesn't, and sometimes its opaque. I guess,
it all depends on where the game freezes (whether before or during the animation).

Once the game froze, there is nothing you can do but restart the 360. Pressing buttons on the controller doesn't do anything.

It looks as if it's the same problem as with Kinect Fun Labs, which keeps freezing on me in a similar fashion.

I am glad that it's working now. Did you mean that the restart option on your console doesn't work until now when you press it?

after you have started the game, press the Xbox button and open the network setting and go offline.

If that doesn't work go on the game rile and press the Start button. Open 'Manage game and add ons' and delete the saved data.

Go online again and restart the console.

Try this:

Go to the Xbox Accessories app and click on the beaker to enter test mode. Then, click the button that doesn't work. If it shows that you pressed that button it should work. If that doesn't work, try updating the controller or hard restarting the console.
Do that by holding down the xbox button for a few second until the light fully shuts off. Then after you restart the console, try using the controller. If these don't work, you may need to replace or buy a new controller.
