Prepaid gift card redeemed but now showing up in my account

I redeemed a $50 gift card on my 360 console, and the redemption confirmation popped up saying it had been applied to my account. However, when I try to purchase something, it says that there is only the amount from before I redeemed the gift card. Any ideas
on what is happening?

Downloading X360 games and account regions

I live in Cyprus and XBOX Live is not supported here. No digital games marketplace neither.

I am new to xbox, i now have changed my account to UK from microsoft website.
How can i download games?
If i get a prepaid card and redeem it on my XBOX360, will i be able to buy and download games? Or will it block my downloading because i dont have a UK IP?

I have been doing the same with my PS3 and PS4 for years. When i opened the account, no PS Store was available for Cyprus, so i made a new UK account and i keep this ever since. When i want to renew my PS subscription i do it with pre-paid cards and when i want to get games, i top up the wallet with prepaid cards again.

Is it possible to use two credit cards on one digital purchase?

My son received $50 in Xbox gift cards and we redeemed them and they are showing up in our account but they are grayed out via the console. When we go to purchase a game, the MS card balance doesn't show as payment option. Any ideas what the issue might
be?

Check Your Microsoft account balance You can check your Microsoft account balance by going to the Microsoft account Transactions page.

You might also want to "Turn Off" Your console for 1 Minute then
Turn it back on. Keep me updated.

I`d also like you to go to Settings > System > System Settings >
Network Settings > Available networks > Press (A) on Your Network > Test Xbox Live Connection.

 

The funds are not showing up in the Microsoft Commerce site, and I have left the console off for around 15 minutes and then tested the connection. Still no sign of the gift card I applied to my account
