Prepaid Code - Different regions

Hello,

i have troubles with a Prepaid-Code for money i recently used.

The service to redeem the code on XboxOne was not available yesterday, so i decided to activate the Code on my PC.

I logged in with my account and typed in that Code...

But the money was transefered to a different region (Germany instead of Austria). Everything in my Account and all of my Xboxes belong to the region Austria.

Now i have my money splitted in two regions (but on the same account, weird...) and i can't buy the product i want in the marketplace because i need the money of both regions for it.

Is there any way to transfer the money, get the money back, or to buy the product from two different regions?

Yes and if the prepaid code is from a different region then you actually live in you must purchase the correct code for your actual region and have the correct account region

All 3 are region locked

Live subscriptions cannot be purchased with currency on an account. (Learn about Gift Cards and Codes)

You'll have to have a different payment option on your account for that (credit/debit card, paypal, etc.).

If you have changed locations, you'll need to update your account to the new region. You can follow the steps here:

Keep in mind currency from one region won't transfer over to a new region.

Nope currency can't be transfered between regions

Currency has always been region lockrd

Meaning if you bought frenchbor German cofes even though they are euro you can only spend them in the respected regions

Next time don't buy out of region codes

 

I did not buy an out of region code...

I bought an austrian code in Austria.... but the money was transferred to a german region because i was logged in at the german region (Xbox website) (which is standard in austrian browsers.... thats weird). But i was logged in with my normal Austrian account....

I really have don't understand why microsoft does this. Its really frustrating...

You would need to speak with Support about this. I cannot guarantee they can fix it, but there's a much better chance that they can than anyone on the forums can. (It's simply not something we can fix.)

My understanding is that by being logged into the German Xbox.com you've essentially created a second billing account under the same profile and currency cannot be moved between the different billing accounts, but there might be something Support can do
to help you.

I already spoke to the support and (sorry to say that here) they were very impolite and didnt't answer my questions. They just told me that they can do nothing. I can't even get my money back! They told me:"You can spend the money again and redeem it in
the right region". Thats a joke...

The lady on the phone was nice, but she told me also she can do nothing for me. She just gave me the advice to make a forum post here... thats why i'm here now.

I was very dissapointed about the support because the two contacts on the chat somehow started to provocate me and ignored my questions...

They told me i can contact the legal department of microsoft but they didnt give me an email adtress or the telephone number... They said the legal department dont have an email adress and a telephone number. ( Really... the legal department of Microsoft
doesn't use email or telephone???)

I'm very dissapointed, because I have been a very good customer of Xbox since a long time as u can see in my profile and i spend much money in microsoft. That should not be the way how u be treatened...

 

If the service of XboxLive at my XboxOne would have worked right, like the past times i used a code, i would not have this problem now... a service which i pay for btw

 

Most of the support agents I have ever needed to speak to have been very good, but there's always going to be one or two who aren't as good. Telling people to post on the forums for issues we cannot even solve is a pretty typical move for the bad ones to
get people off the phone, sadly - and it's a poor experience for you, who is told we can fix it when we cannot.

Honestly, even though you had a poor phone experience, I would try calling again, and hopefully you get someone more willing to help you, or at least explain exactly what has happened and what (if anything or nothing) can be done.

The only way to get German euro is to put a German euro card

There is no other way

 

Even if you put a Austrian euro card you would only receive Austrian euro cards on a German account

I'd be talking to your retailer about the card

 

Currency cards have always been region locked and there is not much they can do you may get some one to refund it then exchange it for a aus card but they are not obligated to do so

 

The euro card is not the problem.... the problem is microsoft. The default settings of the xbox website in austria is germany. If you dont change it befor you log in... u are logged in as a user of the german region. It doesnt matter if all the settings
in your account or your xbox belong to austrian region and it doesnt matter from what region your card is. The money will be transfered to the wrong region "germany" and cannot be used.

The second issue microsoft has right now, that you still cant use codes at the xbox one in austria...just tried it again.

 

Ok what i found out now... u can't even log in into a Region "Austria". If you redeem a code via PC and íf you are from Austria, you will always put your Money into a wrong Region (Germany)..

Right now, you can only do it wrong because you cant redeem your code on the xbox and your Money is gone...

Sorry to hear about the issue. While it's less than ideal, you can absolutely access and use the German funds. To do so, from your Xbox One dashboard:

• Open the Guide Menu
• Scroll down to Settings
• Select All Settings
• Select System
• Language & Location

From there, move to Germany. You may need to enter a new billing address with a Germany 5 digit post code. At that point, you should be able to use the funds there. Once you've used those funds, I highly recommend calling
phone support directly and letting them know that you have two billing addresses and that you'd like to remove the German one.

In the future, the best way to redeem a code is either through your Xbox Live account on your Xbox console directly or by using a browser such as Internet Explorer or Edge.

I know none of this is ideal but hopefully you're able to get it all sorted out. Keep us posted!
