Premature Pre-Order Payment.

Hello, I have pre-ordered Mass Effect Andromeda what releases on the 23rd of this month but weirdly £69.99 has been taken from my bank account already, also side note that it said the price was £58.54, I understand that the game is coming out soon but it
feels very premature to take the money now, the main reason is that I get paid on the 17th of this month and unfortunately I don't have the money till the date.. Though my account is overdrawn £60, I have never pre-ordered a game before using microsoft and
I am rather confused on why this happened, Can I please get an explanation?

Wasn't there some kind of notice on the lobby... Nuketown 2025, 24/7 365 days a year we never close or something... LOL... I think it's a bit premature to close it off right now though just because it was a Double XP Pre-order bonus...

Why not give the option?

When payment is taken depends on the payment option used. It's all explained here: Pre-Order Games | Xbox One Games

If you have currency on your account and use that to pay for a pre-order it's taken right away from the account.

Keep in mind, most places that do pre-orders don't charge for the pre-order until the item releases.

Hi, digital pre orders paid for using your payment option won't be charged until ten days before release, as long as you add your new card as your payment option soon then your pre order shouldn't be affected as they charge the card that's in use on the
date the payment is taken.

As mentioned above, pre-order payment is taken 10 days prior to release...in your case, the Pen is released 5th November so payment would have been taken on the 26th October (a game I pre-ordered releases on the 5th and payment was taken 26th). If you cancelled the pre-order before the 26th, then no money would have been taken so no refund needed.
