  1. Premade Spade to 3.5mm. TRS connectors

I have built a joystick mostly myself for right-handed use however the one thing I need help with is getting 3.5 mm to Spade connector connections for working with a cherry switch on my joystick and buttons.

Currently most people assume that if you buy an adaptive controller you have the technicians to help you make the cables for it.

My "handicap" is not physical. However the one "physical handicap" I have which the federal government will not recognize is preference to have a right-handed joystick. (Left-handedness is probably the largest disability group that the federal government doesn't recognize for the purposes of subsidies. The ironic thing is righties just accept the left-handed joysticks and the lefties know they have the advantage with the left-handed fightsticks. So I a right-hander who prefers right handed joysticks is in the minority, never catered to ever since joysticks had six buttons.)

My main point is I would solve it myself except I need help getting these Spade connectors to 3.5 mm connectors connected and no one is willing to do it locally. And as my handicap is not a physical handicap, I seem to be unable to get any kind of electrician who works on wheelchairs to drop off at the workshop to build such things. It seems like most electricians work on the house and are way too expensive for electronics work. Plus even if they were to get paid they wouldn't touch it unless it had factory authorized instructions and a house made joystick does not.

I'm thinking Xbox could provide a box of 20 pre-assembled Spade to 3.5 mm TRS female cables hooked up for the appropriate Xbox adaptive controller.

Another thing Xbox could offer would be a set of 20 TRS 3.5 mm male to males that are color coded for easier reassignment.

    :)

Stereo headset adapter to use with my xbox one and turtle beach x12

    Hi,

Think the problem is the 3.5mm adapter itself.

I got a blackberry cheapo earset from a phone and that works on the adapter, the microphone from the tb doesn't.

Comparing both it looks like the 3.5mm connector has an additional ring around it on the cheapo headset so assuming this is how the adapter separates it.

Wondering if one of those 3.5mm adapters would work converting the plug but don't fancy having that hanging out too.

    Wikipedia:

In electronics, a phone connector is a common family of connector typically used for analog signals, primarily audio. It is cylindrical in shape, typically with two, three or four contacts. Three-contact versions are known as TRS connectors, where T stands
for "tip", R stands for "ring" and S stands for "sleeve". Similarly, two- and four-contact versions are called TS and TRRS connectors respectively

Where do I get 3.5mm TRS to Quick Connect Spade cables?

I don't know if you just read the title and typed in the answer or if you half-read my full question. (Sometimes I'm guilty of that too so I understand)

But if you read the whole question you'd see that I do not have a handyman on call provided by the insurance company / government.

I can source the parts. Amazon and eBay have the parts I need. It's the labor I need help with. As a matter of fact I have a hundred Spade connectors and 30 TRS 3.5 mm female to three bear wires units. It's getting some together I have trouble with.

No I'm not saying that the labor portion is that intensive or hard, it's just that if you don't have the equipment to do it, like I a thin enough cable stripper, it's kind of hard to get it done.

I may consider buying a wire stripper for very thin wire. (My general purpose wire stripper doesn't go beyond 22, plus I find it funny that less means more on this scale, whatever 22 means.)

Let's just say in high school I was on the intellectual track not the more practical track. (I'm trying to see this in a way that's not denigrating. I'm so much of a klutz that I probably would have failed gym class if I wasn't exempted from it. Pretty much everyone excels at something and no one excels at everything.) So therefore I kind of missed out on these things in high school. Quite a few people seem to know how to do it themselves but very few people are willing to do it for other people.

Where do I get 3.5mm TRS to Quick Connect Spade cables?

None of those places but Amazon carry electronics gear for soldering. RadioShack used to be the place to go

You'll probably have to make your own

I would go somewhere like the Element 14 forums where people who live and breathe this stuff hang out.

    My headset...

Possibly the 3.5mm connector on the headset and/or the 3.5mm port on the controller may be dirty, perhaps from dust or other particles.

Clean the male connector with some high-proof rubbing alcohol on a Q-tip or lint-free cloth. Blow into the 3.5mm port with compressed air, or give it a gentle brushing with a Q-tip or small pipe cleaner. Hopefully this helps!
