Pre-purchasing Digital Xbox One Games whilst only owning a Xbox 360

Discus and support Pre-purchasing Digital Xbox One Games whilst only owning a Xbox 360 in XBoX Games and Apps to solve the problem; Currently the kids have an Xbox 360 thinking of upgrading to Xbox One at Christmas.     Pre-purchasing Digital Xbox One Games whilst only owning a Xbox 360


    Currently the kids have an Xbox 360 thinking of upgrading to Xbox One at Christmas. Is it possible to buy Xbox One Games now via Xbox Live and if so what happens to the games? Do they sit in limbo until I initialise the new Xbox One or do you get a code
    to redeem later? Also, will they show up on the Xbox live account - would sort of spoil the surprise? Grateful for any advice.

    Would love a way to Pre-Order and download digital games.

    I've pre-ordered my Xbox One, I've also pre-ordered a controller. I'm constantly on the lookout for other accessories so I can be completely Xbox One prepared for launch. The only thing missing is games!! Because i'm planning on owning an all digital
    library of games the ability to pre-order and download Xbox One games should be an option for launch and when the system is released. I understand this is tricky because we don't have the system in our hands but a pre-order code may also be a possibility.
    I plan on owning at least 6 games by release and it would be a benefit to jump into them on day one. If this isn't do-able then some kind of information release would be appreciated, along with another FAQ regarding digital pre-order and pre-order bonuses
    (like COD Ghost bonus level).

    from what i read for the release games if you purchase them digitally in the 1st 2 weeks you get the pre order bonus's after that games will be available for digital preorder before release date to get the bonus's

    The only way someone would see the purchases is if the log into the account on commerce.microsoft.com. I would recommend making the purchases on your account.

    When you get the Xbox One you can head to the Store and find the games you purchased. There will be an option to Install the game at that point.

    Finally, I would recommend an external hard drive as an add on for the console. You can use a USB 3.0 compatible drive ranging in size from 250GB - 16TB for extra storage as all Xbox One games must be installed to a hard drive before you can play them.

    Xbox One Compatibility with 360 Games

    You can play any backward compatible 360 game on an Xbox One, provided you can either install it via disc like on the 360 (and the disc will need to be in the console in order to play the game), or you have purchased the 360 game digitally so you can download
    it to the console.

    If you purchased the all digital Xbox One S, you will need to purchase any 360 games digitally (even if you already own them on disc) in order to play them on that particular console.

    ONLY digitally purchased movies, TV shows, and music will transfer to the Xbox One. Xbox 360 games both digital and physical will NOT transfer over.
