    Hi,

    I just bought a pre-owned Xbox 360 and it has a parental control lock.

    I don't know the code or the secret question and have no means of finding out the answer to either.

    I've tried every fix google has to offer to no avail.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    did you purchase the console new or pre owned, if pre owned then the previous user left it set as the home console and has probably just got a new xbox or signed in elsewhere and set as home.

    That means your console has parental restrictions in place. Maybe your parents set the console up, so you can't play games that are unsuitable for children or something like that.

    If your parents didn't set up a parental family lock, then an adult can reset the code on the console following

    the instructions linked here    .

    I think if Microsoft do go for locking discs on the next console it will be the end of the Xbox, unless Sony follow suit of course.

    I wouldn't have bought half the games I have owned if there was no pre owned market so in reality the publishers didn't lose sales.

    If there was no pre owned market I would only ever buy 2-3 triple A rated games a year.

    The console has parental controls. I'd hold your self responsible for not using them. Xbox isn't a good baby sitter. Lock it down and watch your kids.
