Pre-ordering upcoming games from the Xbox Store?

I can see many of the recently announced E3 titles and previously announced titles up for pre-sale as retail disks over at the Microsoft Store and other online retailers.

However, why can’t I pre-order digital copies from the Xbox Store?

There are a lot of requests for this feature and I believe it is coming in a future update. As of when nobody knows but it is coming. I feel the same way about pre-loading and pre-ordering. If you would like to submit feedback for this feature to become

This feature is not available at the present time, that would be the reason why.

Microsoft have not ruled out the possibility of making it available in future, but right now it's not offered.

 

I too wonder why not. Microsoft doesn't seem very interested in using digital to compete with physical media. No pre-orders, no pre-order bonuses, and certainly no significant effort to compete on price when physical media prices drop.

 

You should head over to Xbox Ideas, powered by UserVoice to vote for those features. Someone has already suggested all those, I believe, and they should be easy to find, but the forum rules say I cannot solicit
votes by posting the direct link. It seems like Microsoft is going to take a stance of listening more to their customers, and showing it, so it is well worth your time browsing that site to make some suggestions.

 

defiantly use that site to voice anything you want see done in future monthly updates from Xbox. It would be great to be able to pre-order or -preload any game that comes out in the future like Sony is promising.

BUt go to Xbox Ideas, powered by UserVoice and tell Microsoft want you like to see in the future after all they are listening to us the users of the products.

 

Major Nelson has previously mentioned pre-ordering digital versions being a feature they were looking at after getting player feedback. There is no ETA on when it would exist though.
