Pre-Ordering a game using temporary funds

This is a Copy of a conversation I had with support where my issue was not resolved; I will be pasting it below so that suggestions and comments can be made that may help if someone has a similar issue to mine. I will be replacing the names of myself and

I recently pre-ordered a game using temporary Microsoft funds, the soonest of which will expire on 10/24/16; Since pre-order games are not charged immediately some of my temporary funds will expire before the time of purchase, therefore costing me more.

I would suggest that you have to put enough money on the account so that once the pre order has release you will be charged on the account automatically.

That will still cost me additional money which does not solve the problem; Is there any way to be charged the pre-order cost before the temporary currency expires; I have no intentions to refund this product; I simply don't want to pay more than I have to out
of pocket.

I really wanted to help you on the pre order for the currency� but we do not have any control over to the pre orders of the game. I would suggest that you can use the currency that you have now which about to expire and add additional currency for the pre order
of the game.

The best thing that you can do for the funds that will about to expire is to used that to purchase ingame items instead like gems or points. Then add additional currency on the account.

What if I cancel my pre-order, use the funds to purchase a game that is already out for $59.99, then use the 45-day refund guarantee to get back the funds and use them on the preorder?

That would be a duplicate charge if you are going to purchase the game now and then pre order it again. There is no assurance that the pre order of the game is still available at the time you want to buy the game.

So assuming that that it will take 1-2 days to cancel my pre-order, 1-2 days to purchase a $59.99 game and refund it (returning $59.99 worth of funds to my account); I would have ample time to use those refunded funds to pre-order the game without them expiring
before time of purchase?

The best option now that you can do is to use the currency first that is about to expired then add additional currency for the pre order while waiting to be charged for the game.

No, even our supervisor or manager do not have an access to the system when it comes to adjust the expiration date or charged you for the pre order since this is done by the system automatically.

Paying for Xbox One X using Microsoft funds

hey guys, I have pre-ordered the Xbox One X through the Microsoft store partially with funds from my xbox account and the rest with paypal.

My question is, if I add funds to my Microsoft account in the time that ive pre-ordered and the time that the money is taken out which is currently 10 days before release, will it take those funds or only the funds I had at the time of pre ordering?

I rarely pre-order games anymore. After pre-ordering a couple games because I wanted the free little DLC, I always found myself never using it.

 

There is no way to extend a expiring money

Your only option is to use the currency on file first then buy a code from an etailer for the remaindrr

Keep.in mind only promotional currency expires including the ones from the ms points to currency transfer

If you had ms points from before the system changed you will have e to use those

The new currency will be used as the remainder of the balance

 

Hello I understand your frustration, however there is a solution that may benefit you but it may involve a little legwork. I remember coming across this support article a while back talking about the use of Microsoft account money on a pre-order.

Reason why I am bringing this up is the first option might work for you, however instead of using your card to pay off the balance use it to buy additional Microsoft account money and then use the account money you just purchased with your current amount
of money on your account and hopefully it should extract it all pretty much right away after doing the purchase.

If you decide to try the first option marked in the quote below I HIGHLY recommend buying digital currency from the Microsoft store, as you can put in a custom dollar amount, so you don't have to have $5.00 extra and what not, so make sure you get enough
to handle the amount you need. I will warn you though make sure you do it early enough though, as they tend to take their time on sending the code for the currency to your email.

So in the end your only using your credit card and what not to purchase the Microsoft account currency from the Microsoft Store and the amount you add should work with the amount you already have to ensure you can pre-order your game. I hope this helps and

I usually don't buy much of anything in the Microsoft Store, but the way the Xbox Digital Gift Card I linked above works comes in real handy when you want to buy something, but you can't afford or don't want to buy the default amounts they have at retailers.
