Pre-ordered digital Games

Apologies if this has been asked before. But can some one clarify what happens. I was under the impression that the game in this instance Gears 4 has already downloaded so at 12am I can play. However my mate says it still has to install... Can some one clear
this up please ? It's my first time purchasing a digital game

may have it install an update as patch may have been made between downloading the game so may not instantly be able to load at 12 midnight

have you pre ordered the ultimate edition or the standard one ?

Preloaded should now be live bud , I pre ordered the ultimate edition and like you noticed yesterday it had now fully downloaded yet , I uninstalled the placeholder then reinstalled , that kicked the full preload in , try it

Insomniac has apparently said that digital pre-orders are coming soon and Sunset Overdrive digital pre-orders even get a special bonus. Hopefully the digital pre-ordering will arrive in time for Destiny.

you dont need to pre order digital games on x1. for two weeks after the release you can get pre order bonuses on digital games.

For digital download pre-orders, the code should be immediately sent to you after you pre-order.

For physical game pre-orders, the code will be included with the actual game at launch date.

Pre install of the game is available for digital pre orders only. If you pre ordered the game digitally then you should see a placeholder for it in My Games and Apps. Go there and highlight the game then press the start button on your controller. Choose
Manage Game then go to Ready to Install to download it.

From there you can also go to the store and search for the version of the game you digitally pre ordered. Select Manage Game and go to Ready to Install to download any extra content you're entitled to.
