Pre-order Xbox Series X using Gift Card

Hello,

Ive preordered the xbox box series x, payment has not been taken yet i believe this happens 10 days before shipping, anyway my question is IF i add money to my Microsoft account balance using a Xbox gift card, when the money for this pre-order is taken will
this Microsoft account balance be used first over my credit card?

Even though the payment method used when placing the preorder was my CC, do they first take money that is in the Microsoft account balance...

Yeah, you can change your payment method, but they won't automatically take anything from your Microsoft account balance unless you do so.

No. They will only take fund from your account balance if you chose that when you made the purchase.

So if i top-up my Microsoft account balance with the correct amount using xbox gift cards, then click the change payment method link on the order page will then the option to choose the Microsoft account balance appear in the drop down??

Also, another workaround is buying an Xbox Gift Card to use in pre-ordering the game, WarCOMBAT27.
