Pre-Order Punchcard

I have already addressed this issue, but the response I got was unsatisfactory as it feels like I (and many others) have been subjected to being treated to the letter of the law, rather than it's spirit. Pre-orders placed prior to 1 October are not being
considered eligible, even when the actual purchase (as in the taking of payment for the item) did not occur until AFTER that date. This implies that it is not the act of purchasing the title that is rewarded (despite the emphasis on this step in the punchcard
description) but simply clicking the pre-order button. In essence punishing players for pre-ordering early, instead of waiting until the last minute or gaming the system by cancelling a pre-order once it's registered on the punchcard, or cancelling and re-doing
the pre-order, to no practical benefit to the consumer or to Microsoft.

I purchased Shadow of War, WWE 2K18 and Wolfenstein 2. All 3 payments were taken from me during the month of October, yet as I chose to make the decision to purchase the latter two before the 1st (less than 2 weeks before WWE released) then I am told I was
not eligible. I appreciate from a strict interpretation of the rules as written, this may stand and I have little recourse, but it feels very much like a tactic designed to minimise the players eligible for the offer to avoid paying out, a feeling I have not
previously gotten from the Rewards scheme and one that has greatly disappointed me.

Hi Notanewb2010. Smwutches is correct. Your pre-order went towards the Games on Demand Pre-Order punchcard. Since the punchcard wasn't completed, you did not get awarded.

 

What counts toward VIP star ranking?

I pre-ordered a game and it counted toward the pre-order punchcard. Will this pre-order amount also count toward the total for obtaining a VIP star rank? If not, can the allocation of that pre-order amount be altered so it goes toward the VIP star rank
instead of the punchcard?

 

In essence, the offer is being treated as if pre-ordering during the time period is the important step, when all games included are scheduled to be released during that period, implying that the reward is for pre-ordering games released during those dates,
not for performing the act of preorder at that time

At the very least, please take this as honest feedback and a recommendation against doing such a promotion in future if this is how it will be handled.
