  2. I tried to be evil once, but I couldn't walk up to a beggar asking for water outside Rivet City in Fallout 3 and deny him the water that he desperately needed. Yes I KNOW IT'S JUST A BUNCH OF PIXELS!!! But I still can't be uncaring because it's too deeply
ingrained in my being. Someone needs water, pixels or not, they're gonna get some!

I remember these guys. I usually brought my Double Barreled Shotgun out just for the occasion.

I always play the good guy. being the bad guy is to easy and you get less missions to do cause you refuse to help anyone.

    Practice what you preach?

I like this topic. For me, I actually go against my style in games on almost every aspect, not just moral decisions... my philosophy is that games are there to do what you can't in real life, not to live out immoral wishes, but rather to feel less monotonous
and mix up from what you yourself would do.

For instance, in shooters, I love games that allow you to do stunts, run fast while shooting, use non-realistic weapons, jump with rockets, etc. because it's fun to play shooters that aren't realistic but rather based on defying physical reality of those
types of combat situations. Military shooters like CoD and BF bore my because running, stopping, crouching, aiming down a sight and firing short bursts feels too much like what one *would have to do* in real life.

Moral decisions, if it were me in that actual situation, I would probably lean more toward good but mostly be neutral in places like Fallout and Mass Effect. I wouldn't be a rule-breaker, manipulator, thief or murderer, but probably wouldn't go to the lengths
that you have to in some of the "good" decisions (i.e. extreme lengths like lowering rent/prices on your properties in Fable so low you lose money, etc). However, in games I go against that. I liked being renegade in Mass Effect, loved being dark side in
KOTOR, and much preferred the chain of events that usually spurred from being evil karma in Fallout. It really makes the story feel less.... expected. That being said, in Fallout I won't go and massacre everyone in Rivet City or risk getting caught stealing/pickpocketing
because I may want to go back without getting shot. However, anytime I went good in those games it made the story less enjoyable to me.

Heck, even in fighting games, I play characters way different to my own style. I play Street Fighter, using a big bulky sumo wrestler and towering Native American grappler, both not the type of fighting styles I would adopt IRL (I would be more a Kung Fu
type like Gen or Chun Li), but those are the types of characters I get more satisfaction out of playing.

I think for me it's less a matter of playing what type of behavior or setting is "familiar" and using the opportunity of gaming to explore areas outside of that, as long as it creates an enjoyable gaming experience.

I was just remembering more times when I went crazy on innocent game lives. When I play GTA and I'm bored I drive on the sidewalk and try to hit as many people as possible. When the cops chase me I like to swerve a lot and make them hit people too. It's
also fun to run through a crowd just punching people.

I tried to do the sidewalk thing in LA Noire and I realized that game just sucks.

Tomb Raider as an example, there is a guy who you can kill or leave in pain. After he tried to off me, I had no problem kneeling down and just watching him suffer lol. That reflects what I would do in the real.

I tend to play games handling situations as I feel like, not worrying about an overall good or bad theme.

Some characters I will never kill, some I'll always kill and I have nothing against killing animals either, though I'd never kill a cat.
