    Powering TV on and off with Xbox not working


    So I recently redid my entertainment layout and ran my components into another room, separate from where the TV is located. My setup is currently laid out where I have HDMI out to my XB1S and then HDMI out to TV. I've run this setup in past in my old apartment
    and was able to power the TV on/off when turning the XB on and off so I know to go into the settings and make sure those are on correctly. However it is not working anymore. I spent nearly an hour on the phone with Support and we couldn't get it resolved.

    What I've tried so far:

    -Disconnecting the cable box HDMI from the XB to just isolate the XB to TV connection

    -Using the toggle setting instead of "on/off" when sending the signal to the TV

    -Tried turning on the send signal twice which is recommend for projector use

    -Doing a system reset of the XB

    *Side note: I had the XB and cable box individually connected to the TV prior to relocating the components and it was previously located under the TV and when I turned the XB on and off IT DID turn the TV on and off.

    Suggestions? Does the IR on the front of the XB need to be relatively close to the TV for it work? I thought it sends signal through the HDMI...

    Embarrassingly enough no I have not mainly because it will be quite a pain to move it back from it's current location but, I can certainly test that theory. However, say that is the case, what could I do to get it to work where it has been relocated?

    Usually the IR is the thing that turns the TV on and off so im guessing that thats the reason why its not doing its functions like it was doing before you moved the Xbox. Have you tried moving it back to make sure thats the reason why its doing what its
    doing now.
