Powering on and Shuting Down Issues

Hi all,

Recently, since upgrading to the Xbox one X and getting a new Sony TV I have had persistent issues with starting up and shutting down which include:

1. Not starting up with the controller.

2. Having to press the power button (on the console) at least 3 times before it will actually turn on (makes the chime noise every time)

3. TV not turning on/off with the console, which used to work fine.

4. Quick startup not working? When I do eventually get the thing turned on it does the slow start up.

5. Quite often when I go to watch TV my YouView box tells me to do a software reset which I think is linked to the Xbox not turning on and off properly.

It started with just the TV not turning on and off but now it’s the console being a little b!

What I’ve done:

1. Unplugged everything for everywhere, reconnected like 100 times.

2. Swapped HDMI cables around a fair few times.

3. Unlinked all my hardware (TV, TV box & soundbar) and re-linked them like 100 times

I’ve search the internet and struggling to find a solution that works or even anyone whose had the same problem?

Wanted to go direct to Microsoft but apparently that’s not an option so ANYONE that can give me anything that will help resolve this I will be enernally greatful!

Hey Houl. So your console is shutting down whenever you put a disc in the tray? I would suggest you start by checking out our

Xbox 360 console turns off unexpectedly support article. It could be that your console is getting too hot, or even a power supply issue. Run through the troubleshooting steps in that article, and let us know if you have any questions. Cheers!

Some of the problems you are experiencing sound similar to some issues being experienced in the Xbox Insider program. Can you please confirm if you are in the insider program

If you are not in the insider program can you please try connecting your console power cable directly to a wall outlet as this will frequently resolve console power on issues, If after this you still experience problems can you please follow the console

ive done all it has said an it still doing it plus its started doing it with some downloaded games an does it as soon as it been turned on to play for the first time that day the light on the power pack is green an apart from the green power light on the
console there is no other lights before it shuts down

i love how people are using names like greedy yet other companys(like atlus) are shuting down their servers as well...

I have this issue intermittently and I am able to reconnect by shuting down my pc completely and doing a hard reboot on my xboxone. When I relaunch the companion app I normally can see my xboxone.
