power supply will not stay on

my xbox one power supply suddenly turned off last night. Tried trouble shooting but could not fix. Orange light comes on for a second, then goes off. no power to the console. I have had the console for one week. When i request a replacement power supply
it says it is not covered under warranty and I have to pay $50 to get a new one?? What kind of warranty is that?

Xbox power supply not working??? Will my xbox one work if i buy a new power supply

I tried to reset the power supply by unplugging everything and wait for 2 minutes but it still didn't work. The orange will stay on for 2 seconds then shut off. So i unplugged everything again and waited for an hour, and again the orange light will stay
on for 2 seconds then shut off. So i decided to quickly turn on my xbox one when the orange light came on when i reset it again. It came on but died right after because the power supply stopped working. Then i decided to just plug my power supply, and it stayed
on until i plugged it into my console. I'm gonna buy me another power supply on Tuesday.

But Do you guys think something's wrong with my console or power supply?

It is normal for the light on the power supply to stay on for a bit once it has been unplugged. Please refer to the

Did you purchase the console at a local retailer? If so they may take it back as defective and give you a new console. That is at least worth a try.

It definitely sounds like it could be the power supply that is faulty but just to be sure if you have a friend that has an XBOX One borrow their power supply and connect it to your console and see if it reacts the same way. If the console then powers up
it would absolutely confirm the problem is with the power supply. Let us know.

i have the same problem but there is more...so i turn of my xbox and i leave the controller to change while the xbox is off..then i came back after 2-3 hours ( i forgot it) and my xbox was very hot...i turned it on and the fan and maybe some other parts
made soo many noise..after 3-4 minutes its was ok without any noises...it seems ok but i am very concerned..please answer..

Happened to me also. When I shut down my xbox, I turn off my controller first then manually turn of the xbox so contoller can charge, and the light stayed green all night...So now I just use my DVR box to charge....

It's not an error, If your controller is charging the Light will stay on until it is charged, if you have background Downloads enabled and are downloading content it will stay on until the downloads are finished.
