    Power Supply Weird Noise + International Use


    Hi,

    I bought my xbox one back in 2013, and recently I started to hear a loud noise from my XBO power supply (when it's plugged in to my XBO), wondering if that is normal...? I searched online and some people mentioned that tilt the PS to another direction will
    be fine, but it didn't happen to me.

    Also, I am relocating soon, to Hong Kong, where it uses 240v instead of 110v. Should I bring my PowerSupply as well? Does it work if I just switch the cord to fit the power outlet in Hong Kong? or I will need to get a brand new PS (w/ 220v) and hook up with
    my US version XBO?

    Power Supply Noises...

    sound like it could be overheating due to dust and other debris you could try cleaning with vacuum cleaner or if you don't want to risk it use a new one

    I'm living abroad in the Philippines until March. I have an original Xbox One and the power supply does not support the voltage over here. Any idea where I can get a replacement power supply?

    The noise is not normal and you should probably have it replaced.

    No the power supply that you have now will not work just by changing out the cord. You will need a power supply specific to the region.

    I bought my xbox one in 2013, am I able to have microsoft exchange mine to a new one as i will still be playing in the next month or so in the states.

    Whats the warranty on the PS?

    The warranty on the console is 1 year. However the warranty on the controller is 90 days. I am not sure what it is on the PS. You will not be able to exchange it for a new one you will need to purchase one.

    What kind of noise? The power supply has an internal fan that you will be able to hear as it gets warm. For noise free operation, we recommend placing the power supply in an area with adequate air flow.

    Thanks for your post. Use this guide: Xbox One Power Supply Solution to troubleshoot your Xbox One's power supply. If the power supply is
    making a noise it could be an internal fan that could have something lodged in it or ringing from one of the power supply's capacitors. If this issue persists or gets worse, the power supply may need replacement.
