    Power supply or Xbox

Got home from work the other day and my Xbox One wouldn't turn on. No light on the power supply so followed the online guide to reset. Unplugged the power, waited, plugged into mains, orange LED came on on the brick, plugged into console, orange LED goes
    out., no power.

So the question is, is this a brick issue or as console issue ?

A possibly related issue is that for the last few months when ever I go to home from a game, then into Netflix/TV then switch back to the game after a period of time the console shuts down with an over heat error. It's well ventilated so that's not an issue.
I initially thought it might be related to being in the alpha program but the issue persists through several updates.

My wife has "approved" the purchase of a X if it's the console.

    :)

As stated in the support page:

    support.xbox.com/.../power-supply

PSUs are designed to be used only in the countries or regions where they are sold because different regions have different power requirements. Using the power supply in a different country may damage the power supply or your Xbox 360 console, and the warranty
    may be invalidated.

Unlicensed accessories, such as a non-Microsoft replacement power supply or any accessory that plugs in between the Xbox 360 console and the power supply, should not be used.

    Power supply or Xbox

If you got the approval from your misses, I would just say it’s the console and buy an X haha.

Did you try to plug it into a different outlet/socket?

I would say it’s the power supply because the light shouldn’t be going out on it. If it keeps shutting down when it goes to power the console I’d say just replace the power supply but keep the receipt just in case it’s not the issue.

    -

2.If the power supply light is solid red or flashing orange, unplug the power supply and let it cool for 30 minutes. Then plug the power supply back into the power point.

power supply unit interchangeable on US / EU consoles

Decoy, please review the link I provided, specifically:

PSUs are designed to be used only in the regions where they are sold.

Don't try to use an Xbox 360 power supply that was built for a region that has different power requirements.

Don't use an unlicensed accessory, such as a non-Microsoft replacement power supply or any accessory that plugs in between the Xbox 360 console and the power supply.

Don't use the Xbox 360 external power supply outside the country where the power supply was sold. If you use the power supply in a different country, the power supply or your Xbox 360 console may be damaged, and the warranty may be invalidated.
